Abstract: A system for adding a participant to an ongoing conference call is provided. The system includes a handset operable to send a message containing a prospective participant to be added to the conference call. The system also includes an application server operable to receive the message and invite the prospective participant. The application server is further operable in response to receiving an acknowledgement from the prospective participant to participate in the conference call to add the prospective participants in the conference call.

Abstract: A system for establishing a conference call is provided. The system includes a handset operable to send a message containing a list of prospective participants for the conference call. The system also includes an application server operable to receive the message and invite at least some of the prospective participants. The application server is further operable, in response to receiving an acknowledgement from at least one of the prospective participants to participate in the conference call, to include the at least one of the prospective participants in the conference call.

Abstract: An Intelligent Network (IN) switch for use in a communications network. The Intelligent Network (IN) switch comprises N call application nodes capable of executing a plurality of primary-backup group (PBG) applications. Each of the plurality of primary-backup group applications comprises a primary call process and a backup call process, wherein the each primary call process executes an originating half-call model application and a terminating half-call model application associated with a call connection. Each primary call process comprises a primary call instance data (CID) table for storing call instance data used by the originating half-call model call application and the terminating half-call model application. Each backup call process comprises a backup call instance data (CID) table capable of being updated to mirror the call instance data stored in the primary CID table.

Abstract: A multimedia hold system is provided. The system is comprised of a first mobile device and a second mobile device operable to communicate with the first mobile device. The system also includes a component such that when the users of the first and second mobile device are communicating and the user of the first mobile device places the communication on hold, the component promotes providing to the second mobile device multimedia designated by the user of the first mobile device.

Abstract: A method and system for previewing a multimedia conference are disclosed. As one example, the method comprises the steps of recording a conference preview message, storing the conference preview message, assigning an address to the conference preview message, selecting a plurality of invitees for the multimedia conference, preparing an invitation message, the invitation message including the address, sending the invitation message to the plurality of invitees, at least one invitee of the plurality of invitees retrieving the conference preview message using the address, and displaying the conference preview message for the at least one invitee.
