The rotary socket and the retaining ring are fixed to the main body via the fixing cover, the rotary socket is limited to rotate within the retaining ring, and the shaft rotatably connects the support member to the rotary socket. The support member is capable of being rotated to support the electronic device in a landscape orientation and a portrait orientation.

Abstract: A support device includes a support-receiving member, a sliding block, a support, and an elastic sheet. The support-receiving member defines a groove with one end thereof blocked to form a stop end and the other opened to form an exit end. The sliding block and the support are slidably juxtaposed in the groove from the stop end to the exit end and rotatably coupled. The support includes a contact portion extending away from an end near the sliding block. The elastic sheet is fixed to the support-receiving member at the exit end and extends a free end away from the exit end. The free end maintains contact with the contact portion during rotation of the support and presses the contact portion to pivot the support to be stopped by the support-receiving member, stationing the support at that position.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a body, a cover, and a switching assembly. The body defines two first openings. The cover defines two second openings facing the two first openings. The switching assembly includes a locking assembly received in the body and a latching assembly received in the cover. The locking assembly includes a handle, two guiding members, and two magnetic members received in the corresponding guiding members. The handle is for impelling the guiding members to move. The latching assembly includes two latching members. Each latching member has a latching end for being attracted by one of the magnetic members. When the cover covers the body, each latching end protrudes through the corresponding second and first openings and is caught by the magnetic members. When the handle is pressed, the handle drives the two guiding members to move to impel the two magnetic members away from the corresponding latching ends.

The auto-flick pivot connects the keyboard to the main body. Each connecting rod movably connects the keyboard to the main body. The pushing body is movably connected to the first surface and moves from a first position to a second position.

The supporting portion surface is positioned against the back surface of the flat panel display. The chassis defines a number of side openings on the side surface from the grasp portion surface and along a direction parallel to the axis of the chassis. The base includes a casing sleeved on the chassis therein. The casing defines a number of cutouts corresponding to the side openings and cooperates with the side openings to define a number of sliding grooves for the arms sliding therein respectively.

Abstract: A support structure for supporting a display panel includes a support and a clamp. The support is rotatably coupled to the display panel. The clamp includes two clamping arms rotatably coupled to the support, a bolt and an adjusting nut. A slot is defined in each clamping arm. The bolt is extended through each slot and engaged with the adjusting nut. Therefore a distance between two distal ends of two clamping arms can be adjusted by screwing and unscrewing the adjusting nut along the bolt. A display device using the support structure is also provided.

The knob is rotatably engaged with the base and the ring. The first snapping member mounted on one of the ring and the knob. The second and third snapping members are separately mounted on the other one of the ring and the knob and sandwiching the first snapping member there-between. The contact pads are respectively mounted on the ring and the knob. When the knob is in a first position, the first snapping member attracts one of the second and third snapping members to separate the contact pads; and when the knob is rotated to a second position, the first snapping member can attract the other one of the second and third snapping members to make an electrical connection between the contact pads.

Abstract: A latching device and an electronic device using the latching device are provided. The latching device is for fastening a cover assembly of the electronic device to a base assembly. The latching device includes a sliding member movably mounted in the cover assembly, a magnet fixed in the sliding member, and a hooking member pivotally fixing on the base assembly. The hooking member is made up of magnetic material. When the cover assembly is rotated to cover the base assembly, the hooking member is attracted by the magnet and hooks onto the cover assembly. When the sliding member slides, the sliding member pushes the hooking member to disengage from the cover assembly.

Abstract: An electronic device includes multi-touch screen and a password input system. The multi-touch screen can detect a sequence of user inputs, each of which involves tapping at least one point thereof. The password input system includes a determining unit, a storing unit, an indexing unit, and an outputting unit. The determining unit can count the numbers of touch point(s) of the user inputs. The storing unit stores a character database which includes a collection of numbers of touch point(s) and a collection of corresponding machine-readable characters. The indexing unit can look up matching machine-readable characters for the user inputs in the character database. The outputting unit can output the matching machine-readable characters sequentially as a password.
