    Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques, base stations, and user equipment devices (UEs) for performing base station authentication through access stratum signaling transmissions. The UE may operate in idle mode and may receive an authentication message from a base station through the wireless interface while operating in idle mode. The UE may determine whether a signature comprised within the authentication message is valid, and the UE may continue a connection procedure with the base station based on a determination that the signature is valid. If it is determined that the signature is invalid, the UE may designate the base station as a barred base station and may perform cell re-selection. The authentication message may be one of a radio resource control (RRC) connection setup message, a special RRC message, a media access control (MAC) message, or a random access channel (RACH) message comprising a random access response (RAR) message.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to reporting channel state information (CSI) when synchronization state is altered. In some embodiments, a UE starts a timing alignment timer (TAT) in response to a time alignment command (TAC) from a cellular network for one or more serving cells. In some embodiments, the UE stores a configuration for a semi-persistent (SP) channel state information (CSI) report for the apparatus over a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). In some embodiments, the UE activates the SP-CSI report based on downlink control information (DCI) from the network. In some embodiments, the UE transmits one or more SP-CSI reports according to the configuration. In some embodiments, in response to expiration of the TAT, the UE deactivates all active stored configurations of SP-CSI reports that use the PUSCH and that correspond to the one or more serving cells. In some embodiments, this may avoid collisions with PUSCH transmissions from other UEs, e.g., when the UE returns to an in-sync state.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for using integrated access and backhaul (IAB) nodes configured to provide multi-access edge computing (MEC) functionality. An IAB node may include a MEC functionality that includes an instance of an application configured for MEC. A UE using the application connects to the network through an access link with the IAB node and establishes a PDU session for traffic of the application with a core network (CN). The CN may determine that the traffic corresponds to the application, and that an instance of the application is present on the IAB node. Accordingly, the CN may instruct the IAB donor to instantiate a remote packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer and, in some cases, a remote service data application (SDAP) layer that are configured to route the traffic from the UE for the application to the instance of the application on the IAB node.

    Abstract: The functions of user equipment (UE), radio access network (RAN) devices, and core network (CN) devices in circumstances where a UE is expected to experience discontinuous coverage are described herein. A UE may send a CN a non-access stratum (NAS) message including a release request indicating that a UE is leaving coverage and assistance information. The CN may interrupt paging of the UE and resume the paging according to the assistance information. A UE may enter a low power usage mode upon leaving coverage, and may use one or more timers to determine when to check for coverage and send a mobility update message corresponding to the low power usage mode. A base station may receive, from a UE, a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising a release request and assistance information, send an RRC release message to the UE in response, and forward the assistance information to the CN.

Moreover, it also saves power at the UE.

The gNB may also transmit a correlation message including spatial correlation information to help a UE determine the spatial correlation. The UAI message is configured to inform the first network of coordinated leaving and abortion of the RRC reconfiguration procedure. The first SIM is transitioned to an idle mode. A cellular base station may provide a wake up signal on an unlicensed frequency channel after successful completion of a listen-before-talk procedure. The wake up signal may include a preamble configured for coherent detection, and information indicating channel occupancy time for a cellular communication by the cellular base station and a cell identifier for the cellular base station. A wireless device may monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for a wake up signal, and may determine whether to monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for control channel signaling based on whether a wake up signal is received, and potentially also based on the contents of the wake up signal if a wake up signal is received.
