  • Publication number: 20240172310
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is connected to a wireless network and operates in a carrier aggregation (CA) state that includes a first connection to a primary cell and a second connection to a secondary cell. The UE determines a beam failure has occurred for one of the first connection or the second connection and initiates a beam failure recovery (BFR) operation. The BFR operation includes transmitting, to the primary cell, a BFR Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE).

  • Publication number: 20230217528
Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device that communicates data between a user equipment (UE) device and a base station when the user equipment is in the inactive state is described. In some embodiments, the last serving base station of the UE and the new base station of the UE coordinate with each other to complete the transfer of data while the UE is in the inactive state.

  • Publication number: 20220394605
Abstract: A device, system and method for a user equipment (UE) to report a network resource and capability state to a network for coordinating network resource allocations. The UE is configured to establish a first connection to a first network based on a first subscriber identity module (SIM) of the UE and further configured to establish a second connection to a second network based on a second SIM of the UE. The method includes determining an upcoming first change of a state of the UE with respect to the first connection and transmitting, to the first network, an indication of the first change of state of the UE. The method further includes changing the state of the UE with respect to the first connection.

  • Publication number: 20220394592
Abstract: A relay user equipment (UE) configured to operate as a relay between a remote UE and a network component performs a method. The method includes determining at least one relay capability of the relay UE and performing a relay access control operation that indicates to the remote UE whether the remote UE is permitted to use the relay UE as the relay.

  • Publication number: 20220386294
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for implementing beam failure management techniques at a user equipment (UE). The UE receives a timing advance command (TAC) from a currently camped cell and initiates a time advance timer (TAT). When the TAT is running the UE is in a first operating state. The first operating state indicates that the UE is in time alignment with the cell. The UE identifies that the TAT has expired. When the TAT is not running the UE is in a second operating state. The second operating state indicates that the UE is not in time alignment with the cell. The UE implements one or more beam failure management techniques based on the UE operating in the second operating state.
