Patent number: 11336513Abstract: The systems, devices, and techniques discussed herein are directed to commissioning network nodes as they are installed in a network. A commissioning agent can be installed in a network node prior to installing the network node in a network. When coupled to a port of an aggregation network node, the network node and/or the aggregation network node can provide an indication of a generic or private Internet protocol (IP) address to a commissioning node. The commissioning node can determine that the network node is to be initialized, and can provide commissioning files to the network node. Accordingly, the network node can configure the network node based in part on the commissioning files, including updating an IP address of the network node to a public address. Thus, network nodes can be commissioned remotely without requiring a separate provisioning channel and without requiring the network node to be configured prior to installation.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2020Date of Patent: May 17, 2022Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventors: Ryan Hollinger, Hailei Henry Cheng

Patent number: 11228460Abstract: A provisioning method and apparatus provided herein are directed to provisioning of customer equipment (CEs) remotely located at different customer sites via Ethernet. By assigning a CE IP address to a CE where the CE IP address is associated with a plurality of virtual local area network (VLAN) tags and assigning an aggregation equipment (AE) IP address to an AE, first communication between the CE and the AE may be established using the CE IP address and the AE IP address, a VLAN tag from the plurality of VLAN tags at the CE based on information received from the AE may automatically be selected, and second communication between the CE and the AE may be established using the selected VLAN tag.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2019Date of Patent: January 18, 2022Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventors: Hailei Henry Cheng, Ryan Hollinger, Thomas Aquinas Bresee

Patent number: 10383000Abstract: OSS device(s) described herein are configured to receive a congestion indication from a RAT component, a CSR, or an edge router of a core network and to determine whether the congestion indication meets a threshold or criteria. Based on that determination, the OSS device(s) may perform one or both of obtaining additional transport resources from a provider of a transport network or updating a resource utilization policy for the RAT component, CSR, or edge router. If obtaining additional transport resources, the OSS device(s) may notify the RAT component, the CSR, and the edge router. If updating a policy, the OSS device(s) may provide the updated resource utilization policy to its associated RAT component, CSR, or edge router.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2018Date of Patent: August 13, 2019Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventors: Hongliang Zhang, Hailei Henry Cheng
