  • Patent number: 7756449
Abstract: An electrophotographic printing apparatus includes an image-forming member having a surface on which a latent electrostatic image can be formed and a developer for depositing a layer of ink onto the surface of the image-forming member. The ink includes charged ink particles and a carrier medium. A supply conduit is connectable to an ink tank for supplying ink to the developer. An exit conduit is connectable to the ink tank for delivering unused ink from the developer to the ink tank. The supply conduit, the developer and the exit conduit define a flow path. A separator is operable to separate the carrier medium from the ink particles. The separator is connectable to the flow path to receive unused ink and to reintroduce carrier medium extracted from the unused ink to the flow path.

  • Patent number: 7645979
Abstract: Apparatus for buffering of a web feed system using feedback based on the amount, or extent, of loop of the web within a buffering module. The extent of the loop is measured optically. An opaque extensor is inserted within the loop to mark the extent of the loop so as to enable the optical sensor to work accurately even if the web is transparent.

  • Patent number: 5508790
Abstract: An imaging apparatus incorporating a substantially rectangular organic photoreceptor sheet having a base layer, a conductive layer and a photoconductive layer, wherein along one edge of the photoreceptor sheet there is an exposed conductive area, a drum having a longitudinal cavity formed therein and including a slot formed between the cavity and the cylindrical surface of the drum into which the one edge of the photoreceptor sheet is inserted and a rotatable element within the cavity which, in a locking position, presses the photoreceptor sheet against a wall of the cavity, fixedly and removably holding the photoreceptor sheet in place.
