    Abstract: Disclosed are chewing gums that are organoleptically acceptable, and have high adherence to plaque bacteria. A chewing gum according to an exemplary embodiment contains a gum base, at least one edible acid, and optionally other ingredients. The invention also provides a method for preparing a chewing gum composition, which includes triturating of coloring agent, and a method for commercially producing and marketing chewing gums, which includes testing the chewing gums for adhesion to bacteria, such as plaque bacteria.
