  • Patent number: 12222907
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method, apparatus, device and storage medium for data processing. If a kernel module sends a data calling request to a userspace process, first modification time information and second modification time information of data corresponding to the data calling request are obtained by the userspace process. The first and second modification time information are used to indicate modification time information of the data in the kernel module and in a file service end, respectively. The first and second modification time information are compared by the userspace process. If the first and second modification time information are inconsistent, a verification invalidation result is returned to the kernel module. The data in the kernel module is invalidated by the kernel module according to the verification invalidation result. The data in the file service is synchronized by the userspace process to the kernel module.

  • Patent number: 11941391
Abstract: A microcode (uCode) hot-upgrade method for bare metal cloud deployment and associated apparatus. The uCode hot-upgrade method applies a uCode patch to a firmware storage device (e.g., BIOS SPI flash) through an out-of-band controller (e.g., baseboard management controller (BMC)). In conjunction with receiving a uCode patch, a uCode upgrade interrupt service is triggered to upgrade uCode for one or more CPUs in a bare-metal cloud platform during runtime of a tenant host operating system (OS) using an out-of-bound process. This innovation enables cloud service providers to deploy uCode hot-patches to bare metal servers for persistent storage and live-patch without touching the tenant operating system environment.

  • Patent number: 9258277
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for performing decentralized packet dispatch. A network device comprising one or more service processing units (SPUs) and an interface may implement the techniques. The interface receives a packet associated with a session and selects a first one of SPUs to dispatch the packet based on first information extracted from the packet. The first one of the SPUs dispatches the packet to a second one of the SPUs based on second information extracted from the packet. The second one of the SPUs performs first pass processing to configure the network security device to perform fast path processing of the packet such that second one of the SPUs applies one or more services to the packet and subsequent packets associated with the same session without application of services to the packets by the first one of the service processing units.

  • Patent number: 8468516
Abstract: A software patch is generated by determining the binary differences between a more secure version of the embedded system firmware and the currently operating, vulnerable version. The differences are extracted and analyzed to determine their basis in the source code for the more secure version. Source code that affects the binary differences may be compiled into a binary file and linked, off-line, with the binary executable file that contains the machine code for the currently operating version of the embedded system firmware, producing a security patch. The security patch may be installed on the embedded system at run-time, and it is then executed to modify the currently operating firmware to redirect firmware operation from vulnerable procedures toward the new, secure procedures contained in the software patch.
