  • Patent number: 5270876
Abstract: A magnetic recording and/or reproducing device uses a Viterbi decoding circuit wherein, when data falls within a predetermined range, the level of the reproduced signal is sensed and the level of the reproduced signal is corrected in a manner which reduces bit error caused by noise in the reproduced signal. Alternatively, the value of a previous video signal value is corrected in accordance with the amount of change in an instant signal value.

  • Patent number: 4890168
Abstract: A VTR is responsive to designation of an index scan mode for detecting an index signal recorded on a control track of a tape with the tape being traveled at high speed. During high-speed traveling, a video signal received by a contained tuner is outputted and applied to a monitor receiver. Every time the index signal is detected, the starting portion of each recorded program is reproduced in a normal reproducing mode during a short time period and time-base compressed, to be combined with the above described received video signal. The combined video signal for picture-in-picture display is applied to the monitor receiver externally provided, so that a received video signal is displayed on a main screen while a reproduced video signal is displayed on a subscreen. When a short time period elapsed, PIP control is cancelled, so that a high-speed traveling mode is established until the next index signal is detected.

  • Patent number: 4397667
Abstract: A method of coloring a glass sheet which must contain reducing ions such as tin ions diffused into a surface layer thereof. The reducing ions may originate in a molten metal bath used in producing the glass sheet by the float process. A coloring agent comprising a powder mixture of 1 part by weight of a substance expressed by Ag.sub.x W.sub.y O.sub.z, wherein x:y:z is 1-2:1:2-4, and 5 to 20 parts by weight of a transition metal oxide, e.g. Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3, is applied to the glass sheet surface, and the glass sheet is heated so as to cause silver ions to diffuse into the surface layer of the glass sheet and undergo reduction by the action of the precedingly diffused ions to produce color. Conveniently, use is made of a paste prepared by dispersing the powder mixture in an organic liquid vehicle. Owing to the stability of the silver-containing oxide Ag.sub.x W.sub.y O.sub.z, uniform coloring is achieved without encountering difficulty and without degrading the quality of the glass sheet.

  • Patent number: 4051001
Abstract: After copper of printed circuit board lined with copper foil is etched with an acidic etching solution containing chloride ions, the resulting etching solution containing copper ions is placed in a cathode compartment partitioned with a diaphram from an anode compartment, while placing a caustic soda solution in the anode compartment, and subjected to electrolysis. In the cathode compartment, copper is deposited on an electrode without any redissolution of the deposited copper, and recovered, whereas in the anode compartment chlorine formed on an anode is absorbed into the caustic soda solution without any discharge to the atmosphere. The etching solution thus freed from the copper ions is admixed with the same kind of chemicals as consumed by the etching, and used again as a regenerated etching solution.
