  • Patent number: 7813134
Abstract: An electric component is mounted on a circuit board, and a pre-foamed heat radiating member is applied on the electric component. The circuit board is inserted into a chassis having a box shape with an opening in one side toward an opposite side of the opening. A thickness of the pre-foamed heat radiating member is less than a distance between a front surface of the electric component and an inner surface of the chassis. Thus, the pre-foamed heat radiating member is not removed by scraping when the circuit board is inserted into the chassis. Then, the pre-foamed heat radiating member is heated and expands until the radiating member reaches the chassis, and a heat radiating path between the electric component and the chassis is provided. Therefore, the heat radiating property of the electric component can be increased.

  • Patent number: 6927337
Abstract: A box-shaped electronic control unit for use in an automotive vehicle includes a pair of side stays for mounting the electronic control unit on a vehicle. The side stay integrally formed with a bottom cover is bent upward to form a bent portion. When electronic control units are carried by a conveyer, they are placed on a conveyer belt so that the bent portions face one another, thereby to avoid overlapping of the electronic control units on the conveyer belt. To form the side stay having a sufficient mechanical strength endurable against a high vibrating force of the vehicle, a pair of ribs extending from both sides of the bottom cover are formed on the side stays.

  • Patent number: 6867968
Abstract: An electronic control unit installed on a high temperature heat source or in its vicinity exhibits an improved heat dissipation ability within its installation environment. The electronic control unit has a chassis incorporating a printed circuit board where electronic devices are mounted. The outer surface of the chassis on the side of the high temperature heat source has a coating for lowering infrared absorption, while the outer surface of the chassis on the side away from the high temperature heat source has a coating for enhancing heat emissivity. Preferably, the inner surfaces of the chassis are subject to a surface treatment for increasing infrared absorption.

  • Patent number: 6628523
Abstract: A casing for an electronic control unit is composed of an upper case having a bottom opening and a bottom plate closing the bottom opening. The upper case is so formed that plural upper cases are easily stacked up and picked up one by one by an automated vacuum sucker. The sidewalls of the upper case facing each other are slanted, and a fringe portion is formed at a bottom end of each slanted sidewall. A U-shaped portion or a protrusion is formed on the fringe portion to prevent the upper case from sticking to another upper case when plural upper cases are vertically stacked up.

  • Patent number: 6341063
Abstract: A casing of an ECU is formed within an air cleaner of an intake module for an internal combustion engine. The casing faces an intake air passage, and formed in a pocket, so that the casing is easily formed and the water and dust proof performances thereof are improved. A printed-circuit board to which a metal plate is fixed is inserted into the casing along slits formed on an inner wall of the casing. The slits pinch the printed-circuit board and the metal plate at the rear end area thereof. Thus, anti-stress and anti-vibration performances of the printed-circuit board are improved. The metal plate including convexes and concaved contacting portions is easily formed by pressing an aluminum or steel plate. Thus, the metal plate is formed with low cost. Further, the metal plate appropriately includes holes, thereby promoting the heat radiation and reducing the weight thereof.
