  • Patent number: 6004106
Abstract: In a distributor type fuel injection pump and a power transmission pump for transmitting power to the fuel injection pump, when a rotation system member of the injection pump is seized if anything should happen, only an injection pump is damaged to thereby greatly reduce damage to an engine. To this end, an annular groove is provided in a rotor to which power from the engine is transmitted, and the annular groove constitutes a frail portion of the rotor. The annular groove is positioned along the rotor so that all or most of the sliding portions of the rotor are located on a side of the groove opposite to a power supply side. When seizure occurs in the sliding portions of the rotor to prevent rotation, the rotor is twisted off at the annular groove by the power from the engine, so that rotation of a power supply side portion of the rotor is not prevented.

  • Patent number: 5746584
Abstract: In an inner cam type injection pump, the side surface of the protruding portion of each of the plungers facing the compression space is formed in a projecting shape in the area where the plunger changes from the base end side into the front end. Specific forms of the projection include a structure constituted with slanted surfaces over a plurality of stages with different inclinations relative to the axis of the plunger, an arc form and a structure provided with a overhanging portion formed on the side surface of the protruding portion, which does not overhang the base end, projecting out from the side surface. This will prevent collision at the shoulder portion of the plunger and, consequently, prevent the deformation at the shoulder portion and ensures that plungers will not have sliding failures or become seized. Even when plungers collide, the sliding of the plungers will not be affected, ensuring that plungers do not have sliding failures or become seized.

  • Patent number: 4816292
Abstract: A hexagonal ferrite element comprising a hexagonal ferrite film layer and a substrate for supporting the ferrite layer is prepared by applying on the substrate a metal-ion solution comprising an iron (II) ion and at least one ion selected from the group consisting of Ba.sup.2+, Sr.sup.2+, Pb.sup.2+, La.sup.3+ and Ca.sup.2+, with the pH of the solution set at 7 or more, thereby oxidizing the iron (II) ion contained in the metal-ion solution to iron (III) ion. For controlling the magneto-optical characteristics of the produced hexagonal ferrite film, other ions such as Co.sup.2+, Co.sup.3+, Al.sup.3+, In.sup.3+ and Ti.sup.4+ may be added to the above metal ion solution, thereby replacing part of iron atoms contained in the ferrite film by such atoms added in the form of ion. Further, for a more controlled and efficient production of the ferrite film, an oxidizing liquid for oxidizing the iron ion, Fe.sup.2+, contained in the metal-ion solution, to Fe.sup.

  • Patent number: 4466004
Abstract: A method and apparatus for recording information on a magnetic recording medium with high density is provided. A heat spot of predetermined area is applied to the recording medium to raise the local temperature of the recording medium where the heat spot is applied above the Curie point of the recording medium. The heat spot is moved along the recording medium and a magnetic field is applied when a part of the recording medium heated by the heat spot is in the neighborhood of the Curie point in its cooling process, thereby recording information on the recording medium. In accordance with the present invention, an element or bit of information to be recorded on the recording medium is formed by a portion of the heat spot; thus, it relaxes recording conditions and allows to increase recording density.
