  • Publication number: 20020144804
Abstract: A kinetic ice inhibitor is added to water in very small quantities (0.5 to 1.0 wt. %) to inhibit the nucleation and growth of ice crystals when the water is used as a working fluid in a heat transfer device, such as a vapor chamber heat sink. The preferred type of kinetic ice inhibitor is a water soluble polymer or copolymer, such as polymers, copolymers of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polyvinylcaprolactam (PVCAP) and terpolymers VC-713. These polymers kinetically delay or inhibit the formation and growth of ice crystals in the water and significantly reduce the chances of expansion damage to the heat transfer device when subjected to below freezing temperatures potentially encountered during shipment and storage.

  • Publication number: 20010054014
Abstract: Client information is collected by a client entering his or her address, name, etc. when the client buys merchandise and makes a payment. The client information is written to a CD-RW which is provided for the client. When the client uses the CD-RW to access the home page of the selling agent of the merchandise, the client information recorded on the CD-RW is transmitted to the server of a client database generation company. The server generates a client information database classified by merchandise categories.

  • Patent number: 5684583
Abstract: In a foreign matter detecting apparatus 1, light beams are applied to a moving plastic resin extruded from an extruder, and a foreign matter, if any, in the plastic resin is detected by transmitted light beams. First and second projectors 30a,30b of the foreign matter detecting apparatus apply a plurality of light beams with different convergence diameters to the plastic resin which is extruded and moves in a passage 18. First and second light receivers 40a,40b receive the light beams transmitted through the plastic resin, and compare their respective reception levels with a plurality of levels of light reception which are previously set corresponding to the size of the foreign matter. Based on the result of comparison, the light receivers detect the presence and size of the foreign matter involved in the plastic resin.

  • Patent number: 4875522
Abstract: The present invention proposes a heat pipe heat exchanger comprising a hot gas flow duct, a cold gas flow duct and a plurality of heat pipes each with spiral fins around thereof that are installed horizontally a little slanted so that an end of each heat pipe in said hot gas flow duct becomes a little lower than the other end, and that said spiral fins are winding clockwise around some of the heat pipes and counter-clockwise around some other heat pipes. This device can prevent a bias flow of the steel balls at the so-called shot cleaning process performed for elimination of dust deposited on the heat pipes by arranging a layout of the two kinds of heat pipes, namely the heat pipes with clockwise winding fins around thereof and the heat pipes with counter-clockwise winding fins, and if required, can even control the flow of the steel balls so that they gather onto the area where more dust is deposited.
