  • Patent number: 5148834
Abstract: A piston-type pressure accumulator for traction slip controlled brake systems, and a switching arrangement provided therewith. An accumulator piston (2) is hydraulically pressurized through a compression spring (1) and slidingly guided within a housing (4). At least one sealing element (27) is provided at the accumulator piston (2) which separates an accumulator chamber (21) from a spring chamber (24). The compression spring (1) is clamped between a first cap (3) directly contacting and surrounding the accumulator piston (2) and a second cap (5) straddling the housing (4) and the first cap (3), the first cap (3) performing a relative movement within the second cap (5) which is sensed by a control switch (7), charging of the accumulator chamber 21 is controlled by energization of a loading valve (8) and pump (9), in turn controlled by the control switch (7).

  • Patent number: 4736995
Abstract: A brake slip control apparatus fed with auxiliary energy for use in a vehicular hydraulic brake system, comprising a master-cylinder assembly (12) actuatable by the brake pedal, and with auxiliary energy being supplied into the working chamber (16) of the master cylinder. A resetting piston (49) is arranged axially slidably between stops on the secondary side of the master cylinder piston (23), which piston (49) causes the master cylinder piston (23) to assume a defined position in the event of application with auxiliary energy. To this end, the resetting piston (49) is slidably supported in an annular chamber (47) and, on brake actuation after having overcome a clearance (X), is entrained by the booster piston (57) in the actuating direction. Terminating into the annular chamber (49) is a throttle bore (46) through which pressure fluid out of the annular compartment (36) may enter into the annular chamber (47) in order to urge the resetting piston (49) back to its initial position.

  • Patent number: 4427096
Abstract: A mounting arrangement for use in a floating-caliper spot-type disc brake including a carrier component and a caliper component, for mounting on one of the components a guide bolt which is slidably received in a bore of the other component, includes a recess in the one component for partially receiving the bolt, this recess being open, over its entire axial length, onto the periphery of the one component to provide a free path for the movement of the bolt into and out of the recess. The bolt and the one component have cooperating abutment surfaces either within or outside the recess, which prevent the bolt from turning about its longitudinal axis once properly received in the recess. The abutment surface of the bolt may be provided either on a key-bit-shaped or on a cross-sectionally polygonal, especially square, portion of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 4313527
Abstract: An arrangement is disclosed to secure a brake shoe in a caliper of a disc brake. This arrangement includes a lug of low minimum height formed in the center of the rear surface of the pad carrier plate in one single operation together with the manufacture of the pad carrier plate and a rectangular spring plate having a slot in the center thereof parallel to its long dimension to engage the lug in a locking manner with the opposite ends of the long dimension of the spring plate engaging a bearing surface in a central opening of the caliper in which the brake shoe is positioned.

  • Patent number: 4276965
Abstract: A spring clamping the brake caliper relative to the brake support member radially includes a middle section fastened to the end surface of the caliper remote from the actuating device and two spring arms extending substantially parallel to the brake disc being in slidable abutting engagement with the arms of the support member.

  • Patent number: 4014415
Abstract: The adjusting device includes a threaded spindle onto which an adjusting nut is screwed, a frictional-engagement turning mechanism for the adjusting nut, a brake for preventing a turning movement of the adjusting nut and a resilient connection between the turning mechanism and the working piston. The brake is formed by two seal lips of a sealing arrangement stationarily connected with the working piston, the two seal lips abutting in a sealed relation against the adjusting nut and acting in opposite directions.
