  • Publication number: 20200118093
Abstract: A system and method for arbitrating a blockchain transaction enables a sender node and a receiver node to perform a transaction with a payment contract, and also record the transaction in the blockchain to protect the sender and receiver node from unfair practices; by preventing the receiver node from transferring received payments until a dispute resolution period that is preset by the sender node has expired. The transaction and payment contract are conducted with a payment condition-checking smart code that executes the transaction only when predetermined conditions have been met. The sender node and the receiver node can elect arbitrator nodes through a delegated proof of stake process. The arbitrator nodes verify the transaction, and review submitted arbitration applications. The arbitrator nodes create an arbitrator report recorded in the blockchain. If dissatisfied with the arbitration, a subsequent arbitration, or an offline dispute resolution node can be requested.

  • Patent number: 10382205
Abstract: A security method for using a blockchain service creates a secure blockchain to protect data through a privacy-aware blockchain arbitration server that has zero or restricted capability to view or modify the contents of each block being submitted to the blockchain, creating a barrier between arbitration server and blockchain. A block creator constraint and a block approval authority regulate which block submitter, or creator, and what type of block can be submitted and accepted by blockchain. Arbitration server sums the number of approvals for new blocks added to blockchain. In summing, if the accumulated approvals and disapprovals of blocks satisfy the block's approval policy, the arbitration server adds the block to blockchain and sends to blockchain participants upon queries. If the accumulated approvals and disapprovals of blocks don't satisfy block's approval policy, the arbitration server drops the block. Blockchain participants verify if the new blocks added by the arbitration server.

  • Patent number: 10346614
Abstract: A security system and method for the Internet of Things integrates a multitude of devices and protocols. The security system includes an OAS security gateway that protects the local IoT devices from external network-based attacks through remote attestation requests to a remote attestation server. The remote attestation message is used by the remote attestation server to analyze the software execution history of the local IoT device, so as to detect malware or insecure software. A cryptographic chip operatively integrates in the security gateway. The security system also performs data packet encryption and decryption of communications between the local IoT devices and remote user devices with an encryption engine. A service virtualization engine converts incompatible communication protocols between the IoT device and the remote user device. A network traffic sanitization engine filters data packet communications between the local IoT device and the remote attestation server.

  • Publication number: 20170055146
Abstract: A system and computer-implemented method for authenticating a user of a host computer communicating with a service server over a network. A mobile communication device including at least one processor and enabled for near field communication (NFC) receives authentication event information from the host computer via a near field communication link, wherein the authentication event information was generated by the service server and uniquely identifies a particular service process between the service server and host computer. At least one processor of the mobile communication device transmits authentication data associated with the user and the received authentication event information to an authentication server that is physically separate from the service server. The transmitted authentication data and authentication event information permit the authentication server to authenticate the user and notify the service server of the authentication results.
