  • Patent number: 7162702
Abstract: A display device and a method for driving the same are disclosed. The display device confirms whether display data applied to a display panel are uniformly maintained for a predetermined time. As a result of confirmation, if the display data are uniformly maintained for a predetermined time, pixels of the display panel are made for a predetermined block unit so that screen save modes are performed to sequentially apply screen save mode data to pixels of each block. The screen save modes are completed after there are sequentially performed for all blocks on the display panel. Thus, uniform luminance deviation can be obtained on the display panel of the display device and further picture quality of the display device can be improved.

  • Patent number: 7131592
Abstract: An improved card scanner for imaging and decoding data contained in indicia such as bar codes on a side surface of an inserted card. The device features a double scanning method using an electronic imaging element and processor which turns off unnecessary power when not required and begins processing data as soon as one captured image is determined complete. This is accomplished through the use of a processor and software to determine if a complete image of the bar code on the inserted card has been captured and allowing immediate processing for data and removal of the card. Should the image of the bar code be incomplete, a second scan is conducted of the bar code as it is removed and a complete image formed from the second or combination of the two individual scans. The device can also be used to compare photographs scanned from a card with the digital photograph encoded in a two dimensional bar code and to display both photos for comparison.

  • Patent number: 7017818
Abstract: An improved card scanner for imaging and decoding indica such as bar codes on a side surface of an inserted card. The device is electrically powered and features a double scanning method using an electronic imaging element and processor which turns off unnecessary power when not required. This is accomplished through the use of a processor and software to determine if a complete image of the bar code on the inserted card has been captured and allowing immediate extracting of data from the bar code and immediate removal of the card. Should the image of the bar code be incomplete, a second scan is conducted of the bar code as it is removed and if complete, data is extracted and if incomplete a complete image formed from the two individual scans. The device also employs a magnetic strip data reader to extract magnetically encoded data.

  • Publication number: 20040259002
Abstract: An electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery includes lithium salts, a non-aqueous organic solvent, and additive compounds, which initiates decomposition at 4V to 5V and show a constant current maintenance plateau region of more than or equal to 0.5V at measurement of LSV (linear sweep voltammetry). The additive compounds added to the electrolyte of the present invention decompose earlier than the organic solvent to form a conductive polymer layer on the surface of a positive electrode by increased electrochemical energy and heat at overcharge. The conductive polymer layer prevents decomposition of the organic solvent. Accordingly, the electrolyte inhibits gas generation caused by decomposition of the organic solvent during high temperature storage, and also improves safety of the battery during overcharge.

The additive compounds added to the electrolyte of the present invention decompose earlier than the organic solvent to form a conductive polymer layer on the surface of a positive electrode, and prevent decomposition of the organic solvent.
