  • Publication number: 20130214515
Abstract: A bracket for fastening a tightening strap of a curtain airbag to a vehicle part includes a base plate and a support surface for fastening the bracket to the vehicle part. A retaining web, fastenable to the tightening strap, is located on the bracket in such a way that the retaining web can be moved to a fastening position by performing a swivel motion with the bracket being supported on the vehicle part via the support surface.

  • Patent number: 7845674
Abstract: An inflatable curtain (2) having an upper attachment edge (6) provided with mounting elements (14) for mounting the inflatable curtain in a vehicle cabin for deployment beside an interior surface (38) of the vehicle cabin. A gas-flow passage (28) extends along the attachment edge, and communicates with cells (32) defined by seams (30) in an inflatable region (4) which has a lower edge (8). Mounting elements (14) are located between the seams (30) of a respective cell (32). The inflatable curtain is formed from an inboard layer of fabric and an outboard layer of fabric, and is rolled from the region of the lower edge (8) with the roll being adjacent the outboard layer and with part of the inboard layer forming the exterior of the roll.

  • Publication number: 20080111357
Abstract: The invention relates to an airbag device comprising a gas generator, at one end of which a diffuser with radial discharge ports is positioned with a joining section. A non-metallic gas lance is fixed to the joining section upstream of the diffuser. The non-metallic gas lance is provided with or is plugged onto a reinforcing means at the axial end thereof that is associated with the joining section. The reinforcing means redirects the gas flow from the diffuser from a radial discharge direction thereof to an axial discharge direction during normal operation of the gas generator In case of an extremely applied high temperature capable of causing self-ignition of the gas generator, the gas lance material and the reinforcing means are destroyed, as a result of which the gas flow is no longer redircted to the axial direction thereby preventing the gas generator from acting as a rocket which could be hazardous.
