    Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting and diagnosing sleep apnea include using three lead electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring devices to calculate ECG derived respiration data. Beat-typing information from the ECG device's analyser is used to enhance the derived respiration data by removing beats identified as non-normal. Surrounding epoch information is integrated early and epoch posterior probabilities are thresholded in order to remove diffident epochs. The system is further trained as new data is collected in the database.
