  • Patent number: 11366081
Abstract: An assembly for determining a type of a fluid, the assembly configured to be mounted to a tank containing the fluid, comprises an ultrasound sending/receiving subassembly and a processor module. The ultrasound sending/receiving subassembly is configured to send a plurality of ultrasound signals into the fluid and receive the ultrasound signals reflected from the fluid. An ultrasound signal of the plurality of ultrasound signals has at least a first frequency and a second frequency different from the first frequency. The processor module is adapted to determine an attenuation of the ultrasound signal at the first frequency and at the second frequency.

Date of Patent: June 21, 2022
    Assignee: TE CONNECTIVITY NORGE AS
    Inventors: Viktor Kolesnikov, Hakon Boe
  • Patent number: 11353429
Abstract: A system for detecting the presence of bubbles in a solution includes an ultrasonic receiver, receiving a pair of signals having different frequencies after passage through the solution, and a computing unit. The computing unit computes a signal value for each of the signals, the signal value representing a defined signal property, compares the signal values for the signals with each other and/or each with a predefined reference value, and computes a deviation of the signal values from each other and/or between the signal values and the predefined reference value. The computing unit generates a bubble confirmation signal that confirms the presence of bubbles in the solution if the deviation is greater than a predefined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 11346837
Abstract: A method for detecting a property of a liquid medium comprises generating an ultrasonic pulse, receiving a first echo and a second echo of the ultrasonic pulse transmitted through the liquid medium, and generating a first amplitude signal for the first echo and a second amplitude signal for the second echo. The method includes calculating an amplitude signal ratio between the first amplitude signal and the second amplitude signal and determining a property signal representing the property of the liquid medium.

  • Patent number: 11300607
Abstract: A method for detecting an open circuit state failure in a piezoelectric element connection includes exciting a piezoelectric element with an excitation signal and monitoring and evaluating an electrical output signal generated by the piezoelectric element in response to the excitation signal. The excitation signal is a pulse train. A frequency of the pulse train is chosen such that the piezoelectric element acts as a low pass filter.
