    Abstract: A system and method for improving a user's posture when using a mobility assistance device, such as a wheeled walker, is disclosed. The system gently nudges a user to stand upright when a user is in a slumped or a bent posture. The user's posture may be approximated based on the distance between the user and the mobility assistance device, wherein, the greater the distance, the more likely it is that a user is in a slumped or a bent posture, and a shorter distance suggesting that the user is standing upright.
