Abstract: A tillage tool appendage which includes a base plate or shank portion, adapted to be connected to the frame of the tillage tool, and a plow point bar-overcap welded to the base plate or shank portion. The plow point bar-overcap includes a leading edge lip which overhangs the base plate or shank portion so as to extend past the lower or bottom surface of the base plate or shank portion, and an overcap which lies atop the base plate or shank portion. Weld metal is deposited between the leading edge lip and the base plate or shank portion in a shielded location and is utilized for joining the plow point bar-overcap to the base plate or shank portion.

Abstract: A stubble mulch sweep including a pair of divergent wings each detachably connected at one end to a rigid overlay of V-shaped cross section. The overlay tapers to a piercing point of hardened, abrasion resistent metal at its forward end. Each wing is characterized by a convexly curved upper surface, and tapers to cutting edges at opposite sides of the respective wing.

Abstract: A plow chisel having an integrated chisel point and including an elongated, arcuate shank portion formed as a curved, flat metal plate having a top surface, bottom surface and two opposed side edges. At one end, the shank portion is pointed due to convergence of the side edges. A chisel cap of pointed configuration includes a base relieved to receive the pointed end of the shank portion in a recess of complementary shape. The cap is of hard metal construction and is secured to the shank portion by welding.

Abstract: A fertilizer applicator knife assembly which includes a shank having a leading edge and a trailing edge, an earth cutting wear insert mounted on the leading edge of the blade shank, an elongated fertilizer tube secured at spaced intervals to the trailing edge of the shank and including an end secured to the shank near one end thereof and on the opposite side of the shank from the wear insert, and a tube protective spacer inserted between the tube and shank adjacent the end of the tube secured to the shank, and receiving the tube in a slot formed therein extending parallel to the axis of the tube.
