  • Patent number: 9862084
Abstract: A device includes an actuation system with a dose chamber including an inlet for high pressure fluid. A working chamber extends away from the dose chamber. An annular wall separates a portion of the working chamber from the dose chamber such that the dose chamber encompasses the portion of the working chamber. In use an item to be driven along the working chamber is at least partially within the surrounded portion of the working chamber with the item at one end of its travel in the working chamber. A valve mechanism selectively allows high pressure fluid from the dose chamber to flow into the piston chamber.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 9, 2018
    Assignee: GlobalForce IP Limited
    Inventor: Hamish William Hamilton
  • Patent number: 9004338
Abstract: A compressible fluid powered device includes a dose chamber. An inlet supplies pressurized fluid to the dose chamber. An outlet for releases pressurized fluid from the dose chamber. A moveable divider divides the dose chamber into a primary space and a secondary space, movement of the divider expanding one space at the expense of the other. At least one flow pathway from one space to the other, which collectively allow gas to flow in both directions past the divider and pressure to equalize across the divider, the flow pathway being much more limited than the outlet.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 14, 2015

  • Publication number: 20110239854
Abstract: A gas powered device includes a vaporisation system. The vaporisation system includes a conduit connected at one end, or configured to connect at one end, to a regulator for a high pressure fluid source. The other end of the conduit supplies an operating mechanism of the device The path of the conduit is such that a substantial length of the conduit is adjacent the operating mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20110226836
Abstract: A compressible fluid powered device includes a dose chamber. An inlet supplies pressurised fluid to the dose chamber. An outlet for releases pressurised fluid from the dose chamber. A moveable divider divides the dose chamber into a primary space and a secondary space, movement of the divider expanding one space at the expense of the other. At least one flow pathway from one space to the other, which collectively allow gas to flow in both directions past the divider and pressure to equalise across the divider, the flow pathway being much more limited than the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20080035214
Abstract: A refillable external dosing valve for use in dispensing a hydrocarbon fuel for a gas auto-feed drive tool. The re-fillable dosage valve includes an entry point (5) and a non-return valve so that a fuel canister (2) is able to be reloaded after the fuel bag internally of the canister has been totally deflated. The valve is adapted to engage the canister in a manner allowing the valve to establish fluid communication with the fuel in the canister and co-operate with a refilling nozzle of apparatus adapted to deliver a substance from a reservoir through the dosing valve to refill a receptacle with said substance. The valve is also configured to include an internal metering chamber which enables a predetermined amount of fuel to be delivered to a metering chamber within the gas auto-feed drive tool. Residual gas within the canister can also be removed when the canister is to be disposed of.
