  • Patent number: 11966628
Abstract: A memory device, includes a memory array for storing a plurality of vector data each of which has an MSB vector and a LSB vector. The memory array includes a plurality of memory units each of which has a first bit and a second bit. The first bit is used to store the MSB vector of each vector data, the second bit is used to store the LSB vector of each vector data. A bit line corresponding to each vector data executes one time of bit-line-setup, and reads the MSB vector and the LSB vector of each vector data according to the bit line. The threshold voltage distribution of each memory unit is divided into N states, where N is a positive integer and N is less than 2 to the power of 2, and the effective bit number stored by each memory unit is less than 2.

  • Publication number: 20240099150
Abstract: A method includes forming Magnetic Tunnel Junction (MTJ) stack layers, which includes depositing a bottom electrode layer; depositing a bottom magnetic electrode layer over the bottom electrode layer; depositing a tunnel barrier layer over the bottom magnetic electrode layer; depositing a top magnetic electrode layer over the tunnel barrier layer; and depositing a top electrode layer over the top magnetic electrode layer. The method further includes patterning the MTJ stack layers to form a MTJ; and performing a passivation process on a sidewall of the MTJ to form a protection layer. The passivation process includes reacting sidewall surface portions of the MTJ with a process gas comprising elements selected from the group consisting of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 6143398
Abstract: A thermal transfer color-variable ribbon is disclosed, the color appearance of which depends on the variation of viewing angle, which includes a substrate, a releasing agent formed on the substrate, a functional coating, which can be a multilayer thin-film stack of reflection mode or transmission mode, formed on the releasing agent, and an adhering layer formed on the functional coating. The functional coating is designed based on the general theory that describes the thin-film interference phenomena. The functional coating can be formed by alternately stacking dielectrics having high and low refractive indices or dielectric and metal layers. The construction parameters of the all-dielectric stack and the metal/dielectric stack can be chosen in similar way to how parameters are chosen when manufacturing selective band-pass filters, which are designed based on the thin-film interference theory.

  • Patent number: 5923110
Abstract: A spindle motor for a disc drive, such as a CD-ROM drive, is provided. This spindle motor is a brushless motor of a single-phase axial-winding and radial-gap type including a stator, a rotor coupled to said stator, and a driving circuit for supplying a driving signal to the stator to rotate the rotor. The stator includes a pair of upper and bottom salient-pole pieces formed with a plurality of tooth-like portions serving as salient-poles. The peak surface of each tooth-like portion is formed into a symmetrical convex shape, which minimizes the cogging torque of the motor. Further, the use of a phase-adjuster in the driving circuit allows the motor to produce large output torque at high speeds. The output characteristics of this spindle motor meet the requirements of high speed CD-ROM drives.

  • Patent number: 5343548
Abstract: An apparatus for aligning a substantially co-linear array of optical devices with a substantially co-linear array of optical fibers comprising; a carrier having a slot for receiving the array of devices and the array of optical fibers; a first support plate having a first holder for holding the array of devices in place with respect to the first support plate, and electrical connections for electrically connecting to selected ones of the devices in the array of devices; a second support plate having a second holder for holding the array of fibers in rough alignment with the array of devices; and a positioner for positioning the carrier with respect to the first holder and the second holder so that when the holders are activated, the array of devices and the array of fibers are held in approximate alignment without the presence of the carrier.
