Abstract: A method and system for calibrating an image display device are disclosed, which enable calibration of display characteristics of the image display device to be conveniently performed. The server for calibrating the image display device includes a setting value management unit configured to store a plurality of calibration setting values for calibration of a plurality of image display devices in a server, wherein the plurality of calibration setting values includes a first calibration setting value received from at least one of the plurality of image display devices and a second calibration setting value input by a user; and a task registration unit configured to, when one of the plurality of calibration setting values is selected, remotely request that the plurality of image display devices perform calibration based on the selected calibration setting value.

Abstract: User certificate method for data broadcasting including the steps of inputting a code recollection starting key on a remote control device during a user watches a data broadcasting, extracting a program title from an Electronic Program Guide table received from a broadcasting station, inputting a successive sequence of keys for user certification, inputting a code recollection end key on the remote control device for finishing the inputting of the sequence of keys, inputting a user code according to a screen displayed after inputting the code recollection key, and storing a record having the user code, the program title and the input key sequence in the code certificate table, whereby permitting easier watching of a data broadcasting program that requires a used certificate.

Abstract: Disclosed is a data broadcasting guidance system and method which guides a user and enhances the availability of the data broadcasting. The data broadcasting guidance system includes means for extracting guidance information while a data broadcasting is displayed; means for requesting a guidance on the data broadcasting; and means for notifying the extracted guidance information in response to the request from the requesting means. Accordingly, the guidance information to navigate the data broadcasting is supplied and the remote controller is controlled more exactly and faster so that the user's attention is drawn to the data broadcasting and the broadcast gets popular.

Abstract: Provided is a fiber ring laser capable of obtaining a back-up laser light and standard light having a wavelength continuously tuned in a single mode with equal spacing of 12.5 GHz, 25 GHz, 50 GHz or 100 GHz recommended by ITU-T Recommendation G. 692 & G. 694.1 in a C-band and an L-band using a fiber tunable etalon filter, an air gap etalon filter and a saturable absorber in an optical fiber laser resonator having a serial ring shape using a C-band optical amplifier and an L-band optical amplifier. The fiber ring laser can generate laser light having a wavelength tuned by more than 70 nm, excellent output power flatness and a source spontaneous emission ratio of more than 70 dB in 361 channels with equal spacing of 25 GHz by applying a bias voltage to a voltage-operated piezoelectric element of a tunable etalon filter. A single longitudinal mode operation of the fiber ring laser can be obtained by using a saturable absorber serving as a narrow-bandwidth filter.
