  • Publication number: 20100045707
Abstract: A color sequential method for displaying images is suitable for applying in a display with pixels. Each of frames is formed by displaying a first sub-frame, a second sub-frame and a third sub-frame within a displaying time by the pixels. By calculating differences in gray levels between neighboring pixels, variations are gained. Then, a first just noticeable difference is provided, and the pixels having the variations larger than the first just noticeable difference are detected. Next, times of displaying the first, the second and the third sub-frames in the pixels are raised within the displaying time.

  • Publication number: 20090168625
Abstract: A dynamic micro-machined optical device is applied in a micro-optical pickup. The micro-optical pickup includes an actuator and a dynamic grating, wherein the actuator may be a cantilever beam electrostatic actuator, a scratch drive actuator, a magnetic actuator or an electromagnetic actuator; and the actuator is controlled by applying an external voltage. The position of the dynamic grating is switchable between on and off the optical axis. When the external voltage is applied, the on-axis dynamic grating splits the light from a laser diode into multi-beams and the micro-optical pickup can rapidly retrieve information on the disk by simultaneously reading multi-tracks on the disk with multi low energy beams. When the external voltage is turned-off, the dynamic grating is off the optical axis and the light from the laser diode will pass directly and write information into the disk with single high energy beam.

  • Publication number: 20090146990
Abstract: A method of generating frame control signals for reducing reaction time comprises following steps: analyzing an input frame signal; generating a first reference liquid crystal control signal of a frame; setting a second liquid crystal control signal range and thereby generating a second reference liquid crystal control signal; generating a second backlight control signal according to the first reference liquid crystal control signal and the second reference liquid crystal control signal; and generating a second liquid crystal control signal of each pixel according to the second backlight control signal. By confining the second backlight control signal to the second liquid crystal control signal range, the reaction time of the liquid crystals is reduced and the frame quality of LCD devices is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 6705735
Abstract: The present invention discloses a projecting device without prisms. The projecting device comprises a light source for generating an incident light beam, a reflective image module comprising a plurality of reflective surfaces which can be separately controlled to generate the image-containing reflected light beam, a first lens set for concentrating the incident light beam, a reflective mirror for reflecting the incident light beam and concentrating the light beam through the first lens set onto the image module, and a second lens set installed between the light source and the reflective mirror for shortening an optical path from the light source to the reflective mirror. The optical path of the incident light beam reflected from the image module intersects a plane formed by the optical paths of the incident light beam from the light source to the reflective mirror and from the reflective mirror to the image module at one point, thus interference of the light beams is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5748376
Abstract: A liquid-crystal projection display system with higher efficiency is provided. The liquid-crystal projection display system comprises a double-layer square-pillar-like integrator, including an inner layer and an outer layer, having a polarization-separating thin film formed between the inner layer and the outer layer. The system also includes a converging light source for generating light converged at a point near one end surface of the double-layer square-pillar-like integrator, so that most light emitted from the light source enters the double-layer square-pillar-like integrator, and different polarized light is transmitted by being totally reflected off of surfaces of the inner layer and the outer layer respectively. A first lens is provided for forming real light spots on an image plane from virtual light spots formed by totally reflecting the different polarized light transmitted in the double-layer square-pillar-like integrator.

  • Patent number: 5528564
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for recording, erasing and reading elongated magnetic domains on magneto-optic media using laser energy. Recording and erasing can be carried out in the absence of a reversible external magnetic bias field. The preferred magneto-optic media to be used have compensation temperatures higher than about 40.degree. C. Recording and erasing are carried out using either continuously or intermittently energized lasers.

  • Patent number: 5184335
Abstract: Methods for directly over-writing the binary data value of a bit of digital data, stored in a particular one of a multiplicity of microscopic storage regions of a thin-film magneto-optic recording layer, in the absence of a substantial externally applied bias magnetic field, employ a magnetic material having a compensation temperature a few tens of degrees centigrade above room temperature. A source of energy is energized to heat the particular storage region to a sufficiently high temperature that the self-demagnetization field of the recording layer material inverts the net magnetic moment of that region. Multiple over-writing of the long-term stable stored data values can be provided.

  • Patent number: 4888750
Abstract: Method and system for overwriting binary data values in microscopic storage regions of a thin film ferrimagnetic layer without using external magnetic bias aiding the recording process. The ferrimagnetic layer is selected having a compensation temperature at least a few tens of degrees above room temperature. In recording data, any previously recorded data is erased to establish a known state and magnetic domains of reverse magnetic polarity are recorded when the known state differs from the binary data state by temporarily heating an area on the ferrimagnetic layer above the compensation temperature in the absence of any external aiding magnetic bias.

  • Patent number: 4882718
Abstract: A magneto-optic information storage system is disclosed suitable for compensation point recording in the absence of an external bias field. The pulse of light used to erase imparts less energy than the pulse used to write. Also disclosed is a method for directly overwriting data recorded on a magneto-optic medium by applying lower energy erasing pulses of light and higher energy writing pulses.

  • Patent number: 4679180
Abstract: Methods for directly over-writing the binary data value of a bit of digital data, stored in a particular one of a multiplicity of microscopic storage regions of a thin-film magneto-optic recording layer, first locate the storage region and non-destructively read the stored data value therefrom, and then compare the recovered value against the data value of an information bit to be stored in the same storage region. If the comparison indicates that no change in the stored data value is required, then the process proceeds to read and compare the next bit of data, from the next associated storage location. If the comparison indicates that a reversal of the magnetic moment of that region is required to store the new data value, a source of energy is energized to heat the particular storage region of a sufficiently high temperature that the self-demagnetization field of the recording layer material inverts the net magnetic moment of that region.
