    Abstract: The control data stored in an engine control device of an agricultural utility vehicle are stored in a further control device in a redundant manner as reference data. At system initialization and in operation, a comparison is made between the control data and the reference data. If irregular deviations are determined between control data and reference data, then, as a basis for processing of the control signals, instead of the control data, the reference data or a fraction of it is used, or the control data is changed in the engine control device.
