  • Patent number: 5745829
Abstract: Imaging apparatus including an imaging surface having a toner image formed thereon and an intermediate transfer member, which receives the toner image from the imaging surface and from which it is subsequently transferred. The intermediate transfer member includes a drum having mounting recesses formed therein and an intermediate transfer blanket mounted on the drum. The blanket has a layered transfer portion having a transfer surface on one face thereof which receives the toner image and optionally an adhesive layer on the opposite face thereof and a mounting fixture, attached to one edge of the layered transfer portion and adapted to mate with the mounting recesses in the drum, whereby the transfer blanket is fixedly and removably mounted on the drum.

  • Patent number: 5592269
Abstract: An intermediate transfer member having a release surface suitable for receiving liquid toner images which include toner particles and a hydrocarbon carrier liquid from a first surface and for transferring them to a second surface, wherein the release surface includes a silicone material, preferably, a oxime cured silicone rubber. Imaging apparatus incorporating the member preferably includes a device for removing excess carrier liquid from the silicone material after an image is transferred to the second surface.

  • Patent number: 5220384
Abstract: A liquid toner based imaging machine includes a movable photoconductive member carrying an electrostatic latent image. A developing station contains a source of toner liquid that includes charged toner particles. The station is operatively associated with the carrier for contacting the carrier with the liquid for which develops the latent image by effecting the transfer of toner particles to the image. The developing station includes a developer electrode charged to a voltage intermediate voltages on the carrier representative of background and information of the image for attracting toner particles to an elemental area of the carrier when the electric field between the carrier and the electrode is directed towards the elemental area. The deposition of toner particles on the surface of the electrode is inhibited during development of the image by coating the surface of the electrode facing the carrier with a polymer material having a conductivity increasing additive.

  • Patent number: 4826945
Abstract: The invention provides poly(.alpha.-hydroxy-carboxylic acid)/poly(oxyalkylene) polymers selected from multiblock polymers of the following repeating unit I ##STR1## wherein R is an alkylene group, R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl groups, m is a positive integer, and a and b are zero or positive integers, the case where a and b are simultaneously zero being excluded, and chain extended multiblock polymers which polymers are bioabsorbable and biodegradable, these polymeric materials being derived from reacting diols in the form of polyether glycols with .alpha.-hydroxy-carboxylic acids. The invention also provides methods for the preparation of such polymeric materials and bioabsorbable surgical articles made therefrom.
