Abstract: Techniques and devices for maintaining network connectivity on a Thread network are described in which a Thread Credential Distribution Service (TCDS) receives a first message requesting credentials for the Thread network and based on the reception of the first message, the TCDS sends, to a home graph service, a second message that requests a structure identifier. The TCDS receives a third message that includes the structure identifier and based on the received structure identifier, sends a fourth message that directs the wireless network device to join the Thread network.

Abstract: Techniques and devices are described for managing Thread network credentials by a Thread credential distribution service (TCDS). By establishing a secure session with a client device, the TCDS receives, from the client device, a first message that requests Thread network credentials, and based on the received first message, validates an identity of the client device. Using a Thread credential identifier, the TCDS queries a TCDS database to retrieve Thread network credentials associated with the Thread credential identifier and receives, from the TCDS database, the Thread network credentials associated with the Thread credential identifier. The TCDS encrypts the Thread network credentials, signs the encrypted Thread network credentials, and sends the signed, encrypted Thread network credentials to the client device.

In one embodiment, factory generated calibration data can be generated, sealed and restored securely even if two sensors in two different devices, such as a first ambient light sensor and a second ambient light sensor have the same sensor identifier. In one embodiment, a device transmits a database key to cause storage or recovery of the calibration data, and the database key includes a sensor identifier and a public cryptographic key of the device.
