Abstract: One example method includes signal of risk access control. Access control is performed based on metadata that includes at least an intent of use, a requestor, and an end user. Access to combinations of data or data sets are based on context metadata that is evaluated at the time of the request instead of after the fact. The context metadata and other labels applied to the data or data sets can be used to orchestrate data access control operations.

Abstract: A method and system for engramic indexing of information technology (IT) infrastructure. Specifically, the method and system disclosed herein enable the efficient access, search, and/or management of enterprise-scale IT infrastructure and topologies using semantic context and natural language processing. That is, query context may be optimized using mapped semantics based on organizational constructs and machine learning, thereby reducing query overhead, increasing response performance, and improving contextual display capabilities in mass-scale environments.

Abstract: In a large network, it can be difficult to pinpoint and track down the causes of breaches of established policies. A policy compliance server allows traversal of notifications according to breaches, organizes the breaches (vulnerabilities and violation) according to severity and recurrence, and identifies related rules, network entities and configuration changes, which may be related to the breach. An integrated graphical user interface (GUI) provides efficient, timely traversal and analysis of rule breaches across the network to allow quick, efficient identification of the underlying cause or condition of the rule breach. A discoverer gathers configuration data including notifications of changes, alerts, and conditions in the network that are pertinent to the rule breaches. A compliance engine evaluates the configuration data against the rules to identify breaches.

Abstract: A system provides for display of results from performance data analysis that presents mini-chart overlays on a topology map based on intelligent analytics for components in a I/O data path of a host or other object. The mini-charts may be advantageously used to show criticality of impact to assist a user with incident avoidance and/or to provide fast incident resolution. When launching into the topology map, the user may enable mini-charts and visually see from the charts where a possible performance bottleneck is detected by the analytics. In an embodiment, the mini-charts for the most relevant metrics may be displayed and identified for criticality, such as by color. The colors may be determined by thresholds, that may be set by a user and/or determined by the system, and may be calculated automatically based on learned base line, maximum line and minimum line operations over set times.

Policy definition includes a template of rules, definition of rule severity, and a compliance threshold specifying a number of rules of a severity that render the policy non-compliant. The compliance application computes, for each of the policies, violations, each violation indicative of a deviation from a particular rule, and displays a series of views indicative of a plurality of policies in the set of policies, each of the views indicative of violations attributable to each of the policies. From the displayed view, the application receives a detail selection corresponding to a subset of the displayed violations for detailed report display.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes rendering a user interface enabling a user to dynamically configure a production copy and a replica of the production copy. The user interface further enables a user to dynamically configure a replica of a replica copy. The method also includes receiving a first set of inputs selected by a user using the user interface to configure the production copy, receiving a second set of inputs selected by the user using the user interface to configure the replica copy and configuring a data protection system to replicate the production copy at the replica based on the first and second set of inputs.

Abstract: A system for controlled-tuning path performance data collection through a single application control. In an embodiment, performance data collection may be turned on or off from an application host running a path performance data application via a user interface. The tool may automatically update performance data collection characteristics as the application host I/O data path changes according to user controlled settings but without requiring further user intervention during the updating. In various embodiments, the tool may update continuously and/or at specified intervals. Turning on path performance data collection on the application host via the user interface may automatically set up synchronized performance data collection for all managed objects within I/O data path(s) of the managed objects.

Abstract: A compliance manager presents a set of selectable compliance tests (e.g., templates) in a graphical user interface. For example, each compliance test has a unique configuration operable for evaluating data associated with Information Technology “IT” resources. In particular, the compliance tests can include policy and/or rule templates for use in creating targeted compliance testing of IT resources. During operation, the compliance manager receives a selection of a compliance test (e.g., from a network administrator). The compliance manager additionally enables modification of a configuration associated with the compliance test. In turn, the compliance manager applies the compliance test (along with any modifications) to the data associated with the IT resources.

Abstract: A system displays a set of alerts in an alert view. Each alert indicates a problem associated with a managed resource operating in a storage area network. The system receives a selection of an alert from the alert view, and performs an analysis of managed resource data associated with the managed resource experiencing the alert to identify performance details concerning the alert in relation to the managed resource data. The system then presents the performance details associated with the alert in a performance view. The performance view includes a topology region identifying a location of the managed resource experiencing the alert within the storage area network, and a graph region identifying the alert in relation to managed resource data for the managed resource experiencing the alert.
