Patent number: 6582795Abstract: The present invention concerns a polymer composition and films manufactured from such compositions. The present polymer compositions comprise 80-99 wt-% on an essentially linear polyethylene with a component having a relatively low MW and a relatively high density, and another component having a relatively high MW and a relatively low density, said linear polyethylene having an MFR21 of at least 5 g/10 min, a maximum MFR2 of 6 g/10 min, a density of 915-945 kg/m3. Further the compositions contain 1-20 wt-% of a branched copolymer of ethylene and an acrylate monomer with 20-28 wt-% acrylate monomer units. The MFR2 of the copolymer is 0.4 to 2.0 g/10 min. Cross-laminated film materials having good mechanical properties can be manufactured from the present compositions.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2000Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Assignee: Borealis Technology OyInventors: Hanneli Seppänen, Hans Georg Daviknes

Patent number: 5677069Abstract: The invention relates to sealable and peelable polymer composition which comprises 5-35 weight-% styrene modified ethylene copolymer and 95-65 weight-% ethylene butyl acrylate copolymer. Ethylene copolymer is preferably ethylene butylacrylate copolymer (E/BA) or ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (E/VA).Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1995Date of Patent: October 14, 1997Assignee: Borealis Holding A/SInventors: Hanneli Seppanen, Torvald Vestberg, Markku Sainio, Lars-.ANG.ke Mattsson

Patent number: 5663232Abstract: The invention relates to sealable and pealable polymer compositions which contain 20-80 weight % polyolefin and 80-20 weight % ethylene-hyaroxyacrylate co- or terpolymer in which as one comonomer is 5-30 weight % hydroxyacrylate and as another comonomer 0-40 weight % vinyl compound. The composition is pealable also after heat processing.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1994Date of Patent: September 2, 1997Assignee: Borealis Holding A/SInventors: Hanneli Seppanen, Marja Ora, Lars-.ANG.ke Mattsson, Markku Sainio, Torvald Vestberg

Patent number: 4923937Abstract: Catalyst for polymerization of .alpha.-olefines, comprising an organoaluminum compound, an electron donor, as well as a solid catalyst component which is obtained when a compound containing magnesium reacts with a titanium halogen compound. A method for producing the catalyst is also provided. The catalyst component is manufactured by reacting with a titanium halogen compound in the presence of an internal electron donor, a solid catalyst component which has been produced by the steps of(a) reacting a magnesium alkyl compound with a chlorinating compound,(b) dissolving the chlorinated magnesium alkyl compound in alcohol, after possible washing,(c) adding into the solution, magnesium silicate which has been calcinated by heating at about 200.degree.-600.degree. C.,(d) adding the mixture obtained in step (c) into a cold medium, to precipitate the magnesium compound into and onto the magnesium silicate carrier, and(e) separating the thus-obtained solid carrier component.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1989Date of Patent: May 8, 1990Assignee: Neste OYInventors: Hanneli Seppanen, Outi Krause

Patent number: 4724255Abstract: Catalysts for polymerization and copolymerization of olefins to form polymers having a high degree of isotacticity and fast rate of crystal transformation. The catalysts embody a component made by chlorinating a magnesium alkyl with chlorine or a mixture of chlorine and alkyl chloride to form a carrier, contacting the carrier first with liquid TiCl.sub.4, then with a Lewis base, and after that at least once with TiCl.sub.4 in the absence of Lewis base.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1986Date of Patent: February 9, 1988Assignee: Neste OyInventors: Barbro U. Lofgren, Luciano Luciani, Hanneli Seppanen, Maria H. Stjernberg, Eero I. Iiskola
