    Abstract: An apparatus determines a transmission quality in a communications network. A first network unit of the communications network is configured to perform a first data transmission, in that first data, to be sent from the first network unit, are transmitted in such a way that a first data packet depends on the first data. A second network unit of the communications network is configured to perform a second data transmission, in that second data, to be sent from the second network unit, are transmitted in such a way that the second data are combined with the first data in a second data packet. The apparatus has a receiving unit configured to receive the second data transmission. Furthermore, an evaluation unit is configured to determine a first quality of the first data transmission or a second quality of the second data transmission, wherein the evaluation unit evaluates the second data packet.
