  • Publication number: 20230383088
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for depolymerization of polymer compositions with decomposition of halogen-containing organic compounds, wherein the polymer composition contains at least one styrene-containing polymer and at least one halogen-containing organic compound. The addition of one or more inorganic basic compounds in the depolymerization simultaneously promotes the decomposition of the halogen-containing organic compound and favors the depolymerization.

  • Publication number: 20220081372
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved process for providing purified styrenic monomers, such as styrene, from styrene-containing polymer waste. Styrene-containing waste is depolymerized in a suitable reactor, and the depolymerization products are condensed and separated in a three-step distillation process.

  • Publication number: 20210292459
Abstract: Polyacrylate graft rubber copolymer B and an impact modified thermoplastic molding composition thereof, where the graft copolymer B is composed of: B1: 50 to 70 wt.-% crosslinked acrylate polymer graft base B1 B2: 30 to 50 wt.-% graft shell B2 comprising a first layer B21 of vinylaromatic monomers, and a second layer B22 of vinylaromatic monomers B21-1 and nitrile monomers B22-2; wherein the particle diameter dw of the graft base B1 is 255 to 290 nm; the fraction of B21 is 10 to 26 wt.-%; and the amount of B22-2, is 20 to 30 wt.-%.

  • Publication number: 20210277202
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for economically using styrene-containing plastic waste as raw material for new high-quality plastic products as part of a raw material recycling process, optionally having the steps of pre-treating a styrene-containing starting material, decomposing the styrene-containing starting material in a suitable reactor, discharging and collecting the resulting gases and condensing the low-molecular products in a suitable separator, separating the collected low-molecular components of the previous step by means of a fractioning distillation process, and optionally additionally decomposing the styrene oligomers in a steam cracker.
