  • Publication number: 20100193116
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a composite material having reduced mechanosorptive creep includes the following steps: a) mixing fibers of a lignocellulosic material with a thermoplastic material where the thermoplastic material is in fiber form; b) adding the mixture made in step a) onto a wet web, thus forming a composite material; and c) hot pressing of the composite material. The composite material having reduced mechanosorptive creep being the manufacturing result of the method, and the use of the method and the composite material are described.

  • Publication number: 20060124259
Abstract: A process and apparatus for replacing intra-fiber liquid in fibers by a replacement liquid, includes compressing the fiber cake to express a substantial quantity of intra-fiber liquid to the space between the fibers; forcibly supplying replacement liquid to the fiber cake during the compression thereby replacing the intra-fiber liquid from the space between the fibers and letting the fibers expand while supplying additional replacement liquid. The invention gets rid of or significantly reduces the content of contaminating material in not only the areas between the fibers in a fiber cake but also in the fiber wall pores and the lumen and replaces this liquid by a replacement liquid.

  • Patent number: 6615509
Abstract: An apparatus for drying a fibre web of paper or paperboard is provided. The apparatus includes an adjustable heated press nip including at least one pressure device. The pressure device includes a roll, supporting one side of the web and at least two pressure shoes opposite the device and acting on the other side of the web. Each of the pressure shoes include means for providing an individual pressure respectively on the web. At least one intermediate conduit is arranged in-between the pressure shoes. The intermediate conduit includes means forming an additional individual pressure zone on the web.

  • Patent number: 6475343
Abstract: Process and apparatus for dewatering a fibrous material web. The process includes guiding the fibrous material web through a dewatering zone, and directing a plurality of gas pressure pulses of a pressurized displacement gas one after the other onto a surface of the fibrous material web within the dewatering zone. The apparatus includes a device for forming a plurality of gas pressure pulses which are arranged one after the other within the dewatering zone. The plurality of gas pressure pulses are directed onto a surface of the fibrous material web.

  • Patent number: 6381868
Abstract: Apparatus and process for dewatering a material web. The apparatus includes at least one pressure chamber formed by at least four substantially parallel rolls, a device arranged to introduce a pressurized gas into the at least one pressure chamber, and the at least four substantially parallel rolls being displaceable relative to one another to change an effective area of the at least one pressure chamber. The material web is guided through the at least one pressure chamber. The process includes pressurizing at least one pressure chamber with a gas medium, guiding the material web through the pressure chamber, driving water out of the material web using gas pressure within the at least one pressure chamber, and changing an effective area of the pressure chamber so as to adjust a dewatering capacity.

  • Publication number: 20010015268
Abstract: Apparatus and process for guiding a fibrous material web, apparatus includes an elastic transfer belt arranged to transfer fibrous material web between an acceptance region and a delivery region, and a delivery element arranged to deliver fibrous material web to elastic transfer belt. During acceptance of fibrous material web from delivery element, elastic transfer belt is arranged to travel at a same speed as or at only a slightly higher speed than delivery element. An accepting element is arranged to accept fibrous material web from elastic transfer belt. During delivery of fibrous material web to accepting element, transfer belt is arranged to travel with a same speed as or with only a slightly higher speed than accepting element. Transfer belt is driven or slowed to be stretched more during delivery of fibrous material web to accepting element belt than during acceptance of fibrous material web from delivery element.
