  • Publication number: 20230344190
Abstract: A method for intracavity frequency conversion includes end-pumping a solid-state gain medium in a laser resonator with a pump laser beam to generate an intracavity laser beam circulating in the laser resonator, and frequency-converting a portion of the intracavity laser beam in a nonlinear crystal, located in the laser resonator, to generate a frequency-converted laser beam. The method controls the output power and at least one output beam parameter of the frequency-converted laser beam by adjusting (a) the pump power and (b) a resonator loss imposed on the intracavity laser beam. Taking advantage of both the pump laser beam and the intracavity laser beam contributing to thermal lensing in the gain medium, this control scheme is capable of controlling the output power and the output beam parameter(s) independently of each other.

  • Patent number: 10245793
Abstract: For forming profile elements, in particular trapezoidal or ?-shaped profile elements, from a multilayer stacking of pre-impregnated fibers, the stacking is moved in feed direction with feed speed by sets of conveyor belts which engage with the upper and lower surfaces of the lateral edge sections of the stacking and hold the edge sections in a starting plane. The sets of conveyor belts are arranged so that the distance between the sets engaging with opposite edge sections decreases in feed direction. To conduct the forming step a middle portion of the stacking is moved over a ramp upwardly inclined in feed direction with respect to the starting plane.

  • Publication number: 20140346706
Abstract: A system for producing a composite preform, especially for continuous preforming of reinforcing material for a composite component, is provided. The system includes: a feeding device for feeding one or more layers of preform material from a material supply along a process path; a heating device arranged in the process path for heating the one or more layers of the preform material fed along the process path to soften or activate a resin or binder in the one or more layers; and a forming device arranged in the process path downstream of the heating device and configured to shape or mould a cross-sectional profile of the one or more layers of preform material as the one or more layers are fed along the process path. A method for producing a composite preform is also provided.
