In the method it is determined that additional information is needed for decoding of at least one received information block. A procedure is selected for obtaining the additional information from a plurality of options to proceed based on information about predicted result of at least one of the options. In accordance with an aspect an indication of one of a positive acknowledgement of the information block, a negative acknowledgement of the information block and suspension of retransmission of the information block is generated and communicated on a retransmission control channel.
