  • Patent number: 6170551
Abstract: An apparatus for screening off large surfaces, for instance glass surfaces, growing surfaces or the like and a method of assembling such apparatus for screening off is described. The apparatus includes at least one curtain (14), for example a greenhouse curtain, which is held up by a number of support lines (12) along which the curtain is mobile for opening or closing it. The curtain includes a number of suspension lines (26) integrated in the curtain across the support lines (12), which suspension lines (26) are freely mobile along the length of the curtain. The support lines (12) can be coupled together by one or several of the suspension lines (26) via connectors. At least some of the suspension lines (26) integrated in the curtain (14) are stretched between at least some of the support lines (12). When stretched the suspension lines (26) are freely mobile in the curtain and in the said connectors (15) and at least some of the connectors (15) are attachable to the suspension lines (26).

  • Patent number: 6173168
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for more effectively restoring cells in a radio communications network taking into account current traffic conditions. The disclosed method can be implemented in a number of ways. For example, if a network operator desires to prioritize recovery on a cell-by-cell basis, the order of prioritization can be overlaid on the present method (e.g., for all “priority 1” cells, the present method will be used to select a cell recovery order). Alternatively, the present method can be overlaid on an operator's order of prioritization (e.g., for all cells that are classified most urgent according to the present method, the operator's priorities will be used to select the cell recovery order). As another example, if a hierarchical cell structure is used, the underlaid cells can be selected for recovery during the initial recovery operation (e.g., for a speedier recovery).

  • Patent number: 6150792
Abstract: A phase monitor for a short-circuited asynchronous three-phase motor comprises a first and a second sensing unit, both of which are connected to a supply voltage line to the motor in order to sense the voltage conditions on the line, and a control switch which is controlled by the two sensing units and connected in a control circuit for a supply voltage switch for the motor, connected in the supply voltage line. When the supply voltage line is connected to a supply voltage source, the first sensing unit causes an immediate switching-on operation of the control circuit if the voltage conditions on the supply voltage line sensed by the first sensing unit at that moment are acceptable.

  • Patent number: 6092581
Abstract: Safety blinds for installation in an opening in a building such as a door or window includes a closure covering the opening, a plurality of projections along the side edges of the opening and a plurality of corresponding apertures along the side edges of the closure, whereby locking the projections into the openings prevents the closure from opening and also prevents the side edges of the closure from being displaced from the side edges of the opening. In another embodiment, the projections from the closure cooperate with a continuous channel along the edge of the opening whereby the projections can move within the channel for opening and closing the closure and can be locked in position for again preventing the closure from being opened.

  • Patent number: 6080688
Abstract: A flame retardant, drapeable screen having long-time UV-stability useful for shading and energy saving, particularly for greenhouses, comprising flexible strips with a thickness less than 100 um, which form a continuous product by means of a crochet or weave process and a yarn system, where the strips comprising at least a part of the surface of the product, and where at least some of the strips comprise light and/or heat reflecting foil strips, e.g. a low emitting metal foil, preferably an AL-foil.

  • Patent number: 5992088
Abstract: Plant protection device in the form of a weather protection extensible over the cultivation. The protection device including a framework (12) consisting of longitudinal and traverse support elements (13, 14) within which at least one waterproof foldable plant protection curtain (16) is extensible from a folded up position and vice versa. The invention also refers to a foldable curtain as a plant protection for cultivations, which curtain (16) has a high tensile strength in it's longitudinal and traverse directions and which via connectors (29) is hung up on a number of support lines (30) stretched across the curtain. The curtain is extensible from a folded up position to an extended position and vice versa, whereby the curtain includes a framework (18) consisting of strips or ribbons and/or lines. The curtain (16) is made of a waterproof laminate and is including relative to the curtain movable stretch or reinforcing lines (22) in essentially parallel rows stretching along the curtain's length.

  • Patent number: 5697054
Abstract: A method for significantly more effective use of regional processor devices connected to a central processor (e.g., a node in GSM/CME2O1) in a cellular radio communications system by introducing load sharing between regional processor devices, thereby redressing the problems of too high a regional processor device load and too low a regional processor device load.

  • Patent number: 5469607
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cloth hanger clip for holding a material in which a first resilient hook defines a material holding space an second resilient hook defines a wire holding space. The hooks are formed at ends of an intermediate portion. A recess is formed in the intermediate portion for receiving the tip of the first hook in which the recess is positioned outside of the material holding space.

  • Patent number: 4539247
Abstract: A constructional unit applicable to a wall comprising a board including two layers of insulating material joined in face-to-face relation providing an inner and outer surface for the board. The outer surface of the board is provided with V-shaped recesses extending in spaced relation in rows at right angles to one another to intersect and form a waffle pattern with elevated portions of truncated pyramidal shape distributed within the intersecting recesses. A wire net is attached to the outer surface of the board at the elevated portions. Plaster or other mortar is applied to the outer surface of the board to become anchored therewith due to the provision of the elevated portions which oppose movement of the plaster relative to the board to minimize cracking of the plaster after it has hardened in place.

  • Patent number: 4351616
Abstract: An antiseptic guard for a clinical thermometer is formed by a sheath constituted by two synthetic resin films welded together along two lateral edges and a top edge connecting the lateral edges. A welded joint is formed at an end of the sheath spaced from the top edge to hold the tip of the thermometer in position while a bendable flap is formed between the joint and the top edge. When the sheathed thermometer is inserted in the anus, the flap is folded back and exposes smooth surfaces of the films, avoiding direct contact with weld edges and thus preventing formation of sores.
