  • Patent number: 5558558
Abstract: A carriage 3 is movable in a feed direction A on guideways 1, and carries an ultrasonic machining device 4, 5 loaded with an adjustable force in the feed direction by a first fluid cylinder 7. A cylinder 15 is attached to the carriage, around which is looped 16 a rope 17. One end 18 of the rope is preloaded by spring 20 against a stop 21 which is attached to a frame 2. The other end 22 of the rope is attached to the piston rod 24 of a second cylinder 25. By means of the second cylinder the tool 5 can be lifted or retracted from the workpiece 6 during the machining operation, independently of the position of the carriage. After the tool has been lifted off, the tool touches down gently again on a renewed abrasive layer.

  • Patent number: 5447485
Abstract: An ultrasonic machining device 10 is attached to a movable carriage 3, and has a borehole 11 to whose free end a differential screw 14 is threaded. To clamp a tool 20, first the device is returned to a neutral position whereat a wrench 25, which is mounted stationarily in a frame 2, engages the differential screw which rests on a shoulder of the wrench with low prestress. The wrench is then rotated until the screw projects a specific amount beyond the end of the device. The tool is then threaded onto the screw until it abuts the device 10, and finally the screw is tightened by a pneumatic cylinder 32.

  • Patent number: 5426341
Abstract: An annular sonotrode 5 vibrates at one of its natural frequencies, preferably about four nodes 33-36 equally distributed over its circumference. The vibrations introduced at the input 17 along axis 10 are outputted to a tool 6 along an axis 19 bent by 90.degree.. With this design even difficult to access workpieces can be efficiently machined with ultrasonics.

  • Patent number: 5014722
Abstract: An intra-uterine pessary includes two spreading arms which are in a folded configuration for insertion through the cervical canal and assume an unfolded configuration for retention in the uterine cavity. The two spreading arms form a substantially closed-loop structure in the folded and in the unfolded configuration. The spreading arms are traversed by a third arm which is connected to the spreading arms and to an abutment mounted on the spreading arms. The length of the third arm is changeable. The two spreading arms are made exclusively of a metal wire and are straightened in the folded configuration and have an annular shape and are elastically bent in the unfolded configuration. The length of the third arm can be finely adjustably controlled when the spreading arms ae in the unfolded configuration.

  • Patent number: 4108141
Abstract: An improved portable grill construction employing a hood pivotally mounted to an underlying grill tub which supports a grilling grate and a heating element in spaced relation is described. The hood and the tub are manufactured from identical lightweight shells each having a deep portion and an adjacent shallow portion, which are mounted in confronting symmetrical relation to define a closed contour when the hood is closed. The top surface of the hood is apertured, and a separate insert member adapted for holding a container for food or liquid to be heated when the hood is closed, is removably mounted in the aperture and is so dimensioned as to yield an air-permeable gap around its entire periphery for efficient heating of the container. The hood is associated with the tub through a U-shaped member which folds flat when the hood is closed to define a carrying handle.

  • Patent number: 3938495
Abstract: A grilling apparatus with a grilling tub which is provided with a support surface and a heating arrangement, which can be covered by a hood, and which is used for the grilling of foods. The instant invention provides an addition to the known grilling apparatus which allows, besides the grilling of the foods, also to bake the same and therefore make it possible to achieve a further utilization and optimal usage of the grilling apparatus. The grilling tub, above the heating arrangement, is provided with a bowl that has a closed bottom surface. This bowl can, in an advantageous manufacturing form, according to the invention, have indentations of a waffle-formed structure on the side that is facing away from the heating arrangement.

  • Patent number: 3935809
Abstract: Grilling apparatus with a heating arrangement, a grilling tub or housing with a dripping pan, and a hood which can be used to cover the grilling tub. The heating arrangement has a vertically arranged heating plane, the grilling tub opens towards the front, and is closed by a swingable front wall. The swingable front wall is selectively held in vertical and horizontal positions, and is removable from the grilling tub. The hood is swingably connected with the grilling tub so that in an open position of the hood, and with the front wall opened, the heat created by the heating element is projected out of the grilling tub towards the front, so that the apparatus then functions as a space heater.
