    Abstract: An adapter for receiving a plug connector head, comprising a main body that comprises, on an end face, a through-opening for guiding through the plug connector head at least in part. The adapter is intended to be able to receive the plug connector head irrespective of the geometric design of said plug connector head and therefore irrespective of the manufacturer. For this purpose, a slide element is movably mounted on the main body such that the slide element and the main body form a variably sized receiving space for the plug connector head.
