  • Patent number: 6202496
Abstract: A device for measuring the elastic-viscous properties of objects, in particular objects made of an elastomer material such as rubber, has a measurement body movable in relation to a holder and having a measurement head that can be set on a test object, means for moving the measurement body back and forth and means for measuring the path of displacement of the measurement head and/or the force that acts on the measurement head during the reciprocating movement of the measurement body. In order to diversify the possible uses of the device and to simplify the measurement process, the measurement body is mounted in a freely movable housing with a passage for the measurement head and a bearing surface that can be set on the test object.

  • Patent number: 5927348
Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing puncture sealing compositions from a tire, characterized by allowing air pressure to flow out of the tire via the valve, removing the tire valve, introducing a hose into the tire through the valve bore until the introduced hose end dips deeply into the sealing preparation contained in the tire and generating a pressure differential so that the sealing preparation is removed through the hose.

  • Patent number: 5909752
Abstract: The invention relates to a container for the sealing of tires with punctures, with which it is possible to first mix a liquid sealant and a filler when sealing is to take place, but to keep them separate during the prior storage. The container has a first chamber for filler and a second chamber for the liquid sealant. The chambers are fixedly or movably connected together and at least one of the chambers can be compressed. Between the chambers there is a partition wall, which consists at least in part of a rupturable member which is torn so that the liquid sealant and the filler mix before injection of the mixture into the tire via an outlet valve by compression of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 5717016
Abstract: Rubber mixtures vulcanisable with sulphur are proposed which lead to tires with a good rolling resistance and driving behavior on wet roads without the other driving characteristics deteriorating. The rubber mixtures contain a copolymer of conjugated diene and vinyl aromatic compound manufactured by emulsion polymerisation, polyisoprene, polybutadiene, silica, carbon black in a specific range of quantities and also customary additives and a vulcanisation system. A further embodiment additionally contains copolymer manufactured by solution polymerisation in specific quantity ranges, and in this embodiment the polyisoprene is an optional component.

  • Patent number: 5681886
Abstract: A rubber mixture vulcanizable with sulphur, a tire tread manufactured from it and also tires with a vulcanized tread are proposed. The rubber mixture contains in each case 100 parts by weight of elastomers, 20 to 80 parts by weight of a copolymer of conjugated diene and vinyl aromatic compound with very low long chain branching manufactured by solution polymerization in a hydrocarbon solvent, 10 to 50 parts by weight of polybutadiene with very low long chain branching, 10 to 30 parts by weight of polyisoprene with a 3,4 bond content of 50 to 70% by weight and 30 to 100 parts by weight of silica as filler material. Through the special combination of the three elastomers with silica as a filler material one obtains an easily processable mixture which leads to vulcanized tire treads with improved grip on wet and dry surfaces.
