  • Patent number: 6235368
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium which consists of at least two layers cast one on top of the other is described, the lower layer containing acicular magnetic pigments having a field strength of 5-40 kA/m and a magnetization of 20-70 nTm3/g and the upper layer containing a high-density metal powder dispersion. After application of the layers, the magnetic recording medium is subjected to a magnetic disorientation treatment while the layers are in the wet state, so that said recording medium has virtually no magnetic and mechanical anisotropy. The magnetic recording medium produced in this manner is particularly suitable for floppy disks having a high storage capacity of substantially more than 100 megabytes.

  • Patent number: 5741654
Abstract: An assay and test kit of the determination of LKM-1 autoantibodies in test samples suspected of containing anti-LKM-1 autoantibodies. The method uses a solid phase which preferably is a microparticle. The method is standardized and can be performed in automated systems, allowing quantitation of the amount of anti-LKM antibody in test samples.

  • Patent number: 4556320
Abstract: The invention relates to a laser rotation rate sensor wherein two light beams counterrotate in a polygon equipped with reflectors at its corners, a signal depending on the rate of rotation being derived from the frequency difference. One of the reflectors employed is designed as a magneto-optic element so as to suppress lock-in. This reflector includes a prism whose base boundary face is provided with a layer of a material having a lower index of refraction than the prism material. At least one of these materials is a gyrotropic material. Almost no reflection occurs when light enters the prism at the two lateral faces due to adherence to the Brewster condition. Further, the angle of incidence of the beams on the interface with the layer having a lower index of refraction than the prism material is so large that total reflection occurs.

  • Patent number: 4475202
Abstract: In a gas laser composed of a capillary tube made of electrically nonconductive material and presenting a capillary passage, a reservoir tank whose interior is in communication with the passage, the tank including a cylindrical portion coaxially surrounding the capillary tube and axial end portions via which the tube is connected to the tank in a manner to seal the interior of the tank, a mass of active laser gas filling the interior of the reservoir tank and the capillary passage, a cathode disposed in the interior of the tank, a counterelectrode in communication with the capillary passage, and optical elements sealing the ends of the capillary passage, the capillary tube is symmetrical with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axis of the capillary passage and midway between the ends thereof, the counterelectrode is composed of two anodes each disposed at a respective axial end of the capillary tube, communication between the capillary passage and the interior of the tank is provided by an opening passing

  • Patent number: 4322076
Abstract: A racket for ball games has a frame and a handle extending from it. It has crosswise string sections and longitudinal string sections, and the longitudinal string sections closest towards the center of the hitting surface of the racket extend slidably out of the frame deep into the handle where they are secured.
