  • Patent number: 11527835
Abstract: Methods of preparing composite dielectric materials used in lenses for communications antennas. The methods can include one or more of: using induction heating to expand expandable dielectric particles; combining expandable dielectric particles with pre-expanded dielectric material prior to expansion; and/or performing the expansion of the expandable dielectric particles within a lens or other container.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 27, 2018
Date of Patent: December 13, 2022
    Assignee: CommScope Technologies LLC
    Inventors: Christiaan Radelet, Hans Bols
  • Publication number: 20220350102
Abstract: Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to a cable sealing structure comprising a cable sealing body including a gel and methods of making anisotropic behavior in cable sealing structures made with a dry silicone gel. In one aspect, various three-dimensional printing techniques are used to make a cable sealing structure that includes a gel. The cable sealing body has a construction that elastically deforms to apply an elastic spring load to the gel. The cable sealing body has a construction with anisotropic deformation characteristics that allows the cable sealing body to be less deformable in one direction than in others. The cable sealing structure can be utilized to seal fiber optic cables more uniformly while limiting the potential of leakage.

  • Patent number: 11431100
Abstract: Lensed antennas are provided that include a plurality of radiating elements and a lens positioned to receive electromagnetic radiation from at least one of the radiating elements, the lens comprising a composite dielectric material. The composite dielectric material comprises expandable gas-filled microspheres that are mixed with an inert binder, dielectric support materials such as foamed microspheres and particles of conductive material that are mixed together.
    Type: Grant
