  • Patent number: 6845902
Abstract: Proposed for a square flat gable composite packing are a resealable spout element (1) and the manufacture of a flat gable composite packing with such a spout element (1) that eliminate the disadvantage of known spout elements, namely that such packings can no longer be opened once the sealed-on opening aids for initially opening the packing lose their non-positive bond with the packing during transport or as the result of inadequate proposed, with a cap (2), in which an opening element (4) sealing. A resealable spout element (1) is attached to the packing interior can be bonded with the cap (2) to form an undetachable unit by means of a connecting element (5) that penetrates an opening surface present in the packing.

  • Patent number: 6810640
Abstract: Methods of producing a laminated package with an opening which is sealed by a tear-off strip or a pouring element as well as a corresponding laminated package are described. To be able to produce a laminated package with such a closure inexpensively, the following steps are provided in the method punching out an opening in a packaging material, coating the packaging material at least in the area of the opening, creating a package sheathing from the coated packaging material, conveying the package sheathing to a filling machine or to an equipment unit from the filling machine, and attaching a tear-open strip to the opening in the package sheathing in the filling machine or in the equipment unit upstream from the filling machine.

  • Patent number: 5924267
Abstract: Shown and described is a process for closing filled open-top folded-carton packages (1) made from bottom-sealed tubular sections, whereby closing is by ultrasonic welding by means of an anvil (5) comprising a recess for the longitudinal seam (2) of the folded-carton package (1), and a sonotrode (6), and a device for filling such folded-carton packages (1) and closing the gable seam (8). Optimal tightness of the filled folded-carton packages (1) is achieved by position-acquisition of the longitudinal seam (2) of every folded-carton package (1) in relation to the cell transporting this folded-carton package (1), alignment of the anvil across the direction of transport of the folded-carton packages (1) until the recess for the longitudinal seam (2) matches the actual position of the longitudinal seam (2) of the next folded-carton package (1) to be closed, and sealing and folding over the gable seam (8) or the ridge seam respectively.

  • Patent number: 5078260
Abstract: A device for transferring continuously arriving articles, especially folded-bottom boxes lying with their ends that face each other along the direction of travel differing in thickness, to a packing machine, with a mechanism for distributing the articles onto two different conveyor mechanisms, one conveying the articles without rotating them to the upstream side of a merging mechanism and the other extending below the merging mechanism, through a 180.degree. curve, and back to its downstream side and a mechanism for alternately laying off flat articles, especially folded-bottom boxes, from each side of and onto a more or less horizontal merging mechanism that is especially intended for use with a device of the aforesaid type and that has two two-belt conveyor mechanisms that end at approximately the same level on each side of and outside the layoff area. The merging mechanism is a conveyor belt that branches off at an angle from the two conveyor mechanisms and extends to a packing machine.
