  • Patent number: 9702509
Abstract: A method for producing an escape route marking in a heatable and malleable support mold is described. The escape route marking has a transparent covering, a supporting element and a photoluminescent material. The method includes procuring the heatable and malleable support mold, inserting a supporting element into the support mold, arranging the photoluminescent material on the supporting element, arranging the transparent covering on the supporting element, heating and deforming the escape route marking in the support mold and solidifying the escape route marking in the support mold in a predetermined position. The resulting escape route marking is also described.

    Assignee: Lufthansa Technik AG
    Inventors: Torben Biehl, Hans-Christian Lierow
  • Patent number: 9269284
Abstract: An escape route marking for an airplane with a long luminous strip consisting of a photoluminescent material, a housing in which the luminous strip is arranged and that is designed clear or transparent at least on its top side, and a holding rail for the housing. The holding rail possesses a seating recess for the housing of the luminous strip and cover wings that project laterally on both sides of the holding rail in the longitudinal direction. The top side of the housing inserted in the holding recess is exposed, the cover wings are designed to be elastic, and at least the cover wings of the holding rail consist of a material that is more elastic than the material of the housing.

  • Patent number: 8393744
Abstract: An escape route marking for a passenger cabin in an airplane, with a plurality of longitudinal segments which are sequentially arranged along the escape route that is to be marked, wherein each segment has a support module and a light module that is arranged on the support module, and the light module has an essentially transparent plastic material into which photo-luminescent pigments are mixed which afterglow in the dark, wherein the pigments are micro-encapsulated in a second material such that liquid and moisture do not come into contact with the pigments.
