  • Patent number: 9663091
Abstract: A coupling arrangement between a fluid reservoir and a main brake cylinder for a motor vehicle brake system includes two coupling arms with one coupling aperture each on one of the fluid reservoir or main brake cylinder. The other of the fluid reservoir or main brake cylinder has a mounting portion with a receiving aperture. The coupling apertures and the receiving aperture are aligned with each other along a common axis and accept a coupling bolt. The coupling bolt is configured with a cylindrical shank portion and at least one radially protruding detent projection. At least one of the coupling arms includes a support portion, which has a support surface that radially supports the cylindrical shank portion. Part of the support portion is configured to be elastically deformable with the detent projection to produce a detent connection. The remaining part of the support portion is configured to be substantially deformation-resistant.

  • Patent number: 7191912
Abstract: A brake fluid reservoir (10) for a vehicle hydraulic brake system has a filler neck (16), a lid (18) which closes the filler neck, and a device for pressure compensation between the reservoir interior and the ambient atmosphere. In order, when the brake fluid reservoir (10) is in a steeply inclined position, to prevent an escape of brake fluid, in the lid (18) a first brake fluid forced-flow channel (32) is formed, which has an inlet (34) at the inside of the lid and an outlet (36) towards the outside of the lid. The forced-flow channel (32) extends between the inlet (34) and the outlet (36) along a curved path, which in relation to a plan view of the lid (18) runs through at least two quadrants.

  • Patent number: 6928814
Abstract: A hydraulic fluid container (10) for a vehicle hydraulic brake system comprises at least one connecting sleeve (14), in which a valve member (20) is displaceably guided. The valve member (20) in a first position, into which it is spring-biased, blocks the connecting sleeve (14) and in a second position clears the connecting sleeve (14). On its circumferential surface the valve member (20) is provided with at least one radially elastic detent element (32; 32?). The connecting sleeve (14) in its inner side wall (36) has at least one recess, into which the detent element (32; 32?) latches during introduction of the valve member (20) into the connecting sleeve (14) and which in relation to the direction of displacement of the valve member (20) forms a stop, which defines the first position of the valve member (20).

  • Patent number: 6519940
Abstract: A master cylinder includes a restraining device arranged between the first and second pistons for preventing the return spring from being compressed and expanded beyond a certain extent. The restraining device includes a first, substantially sleeve-shaped component and a second, substantially pin-shaped component. The pin-shaped component includes a flange which projects radially outwards. The sleeve-shaped component includes a first receiving flange which positively interacts with the flange of the pin-shaped component. The sleeve-shaped component includes at least one introduction opening which enables the flange on the pin-shaped component to be laterally introduced into the sleeve-shaped component. The end of the sleeve-shaped component includes a second receiving flange which positively interacts with a flanged projection on the second piston which projects radially outwards.

  • Publication number: 20010049941
Abstract: A master cylinder (10) for a hydraulic vehicle braking system has a housing (12) with a bore (14) formed therein, in which bore a first piston (24) and a second piston (26), which is arranged at an axial distance from the first piston, are guided in a sealing and displaceable manner. A restraining device (40) for a return spring (38) of the first piston (24) is arranged between the first piston (24) and the second piston (26), which device prevents the return spring (38) from being compressed and expanded beyond a certain extent. In order to simplify the structure and assembly of the restraining device (40), the latter consists of a first, substantially sleeve-shaped component (42) and a second, substantially pin-shaped component (44) which is connected to the first component such that it can be disengaged and which comprises at its end which faces the sleeve-shaped component (42) a flange (46) which projects radially outwards.

  • Patent number: 5647213
Abstract: A master cylinder (10) for a hydraulic brake system comprises a quickfill stage (28) which in the initial phase of an actuation of the master cylinder rapidly fills an associated brake system with hydraulic fluid upon a relatively short actuation travel. A housing (12) of the master cylinder (10) extends essentially along an axis (A) and comprises at least one pressure chamber (14) formed therein which is open at the actuation end of the master cylinder (10). A quickfill piston and a quickfill chamber of the quickfill stage (28) are essentially formed by a cup shaped component (30) which is guided on the acutation end of the master cylinder housing (12) in a telescopical and pressure chamber sealing manner. This solution can be manufactured economically and requires little installation space.
