  • Patent number: 9740968
Abstract: In a method or controller to execute a proof job of a copy print job, the proof job including a printing of a proof sheet, at a first point in time first raster data for the print sheet of the copy print job is provided. After expiration of a first provisioning time period at least one first job is inserted for printing a plurality of copies of the print sheet into a print buffer. A second point in time is determined at which the print buffer includes a first number of copies of the print sheet that are to be printed, the first number being such that a time period for printing of the first number of copies is greater than or equal to a second provisioning time period for providing of second raster data for the proof sheet of the proof job. After expiration of the second provisioning time period a second job is inserted to print the proof sheet into the print buffer so that copies of the print sheet and the proof sheet are printed according to an order of the first and the second jobs in the print buffer.

  • Patent number: 8397162
Abstract: In a method or system to generate a document data stream of a first format that is serially structured per page, document data of a second format that comprise multiple pages of a document are linked with the document data stream. In the document data stream of the first format a separate characteristic type mapping is provided that indicates that contiguous document data that comprise multiple pages are linked with the document data stream. In the first format a first page of the multipage document is completely and successfully run through a parsing process before document data of subsequent pages are run though the parsing process.

  • Patent number: 7433613
Abstract: In a method and system for setting toner concentration of a toner particle-carrier particle mixture in a developer station for development of a latent charge image on a carrier, a sensor is arranged in the developer station measuring the toner concentration. Toner feed in the developer station is adjusted. A current consumption value is determined for toner particles. From the toner concentration measured with the sensor and from the toner consumption value, a toner concentration is calculated at a location in the developer station at which the toner is extracted. A calculated toner concentration at the toner extraction location is input as a control variable used to adjust toner feed so that the calculated toner concentration approaches a desired value.

  • Patent number: 7230634
Abstract: A method and arrangement for producing charge images of images to be printed in an electro-photographic printer or copier device. The method and arrangement provides for printing of different gray scale levels on the print medium by controlling LEDs that are directed toward a photo-conducting intermediate image carrier to emit a different number of successive light pulses. The number of pulses depends on the gray scale level of the raster image portion. The light pulses overlap on the intermediate image carrier to effect correspondingly different charge levels. The intermediate carrier is developed by the application of toner and the toner is transferred to the print medium.

  • Publication number: 20050253921
Abstract: A method or system is provided for producing a charge image on an intermediate carrier of an electrophotographic printer or copier. A character generator having a plurality of light sources arranged in at least one row in groups is provided. A separate functional unit is provided for each light source group for control of the light sources. The functional unit is connected with a central control unit, the functional unit comprising an address system via which it can be activated, and a control unit. The light sources of each group are controlled by said control unit assigned to the functional unit. The at least one row of light sources is imaged onto the intermediate carrier as an exposure line, the intermediate carrier being displaced substantially transverse to the exposure line relative to the character generator. A temporal beginning of illumination phases of groups of light sources is selected such that deviations of the exposure line from a target line is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6880035
Abstract: An electronic control device with a parallel databus and a plurality of assemblies connected to the databus. The assemblies each include a processor and a memory device and are connected to the databus with a bus controller. The data are transmitted between a transmitter assembly and a receiver assembly with messages. The data bus essentially corresponds to the MULTIBUS II. The bus controller of the transmitter assembly is fashioned such that, without making use of the processor of the transmitter assembly, it reads data stored in the memory device of the transmitter assembly in response to a request message of the receiver assembly and sends them to the receiver assembly.
