  • Patent number: 7559776
Abstract: A shielding device for connection strips in telecommunications and data engineering has a number of shielding plates and at least one base rail allocated to the shielding plates. To simplify the process of fitting the shielding device inside a connection strip, the shielding plates and the base rail are integrally formed from a metal sheet, and each shielding plate is connected to the base rail via a narrow web and is arranged rotated through approximately 90° with respect to the base rail.

  • Patent number: 7311532
Abstract: A shielding device for connection strips in telecommunications and data engineering has a number of shielding plates and at least one base rail allocated to the shielding plates. To simplify the process of fitting the shielding device inside a connection strip, the shielding plates (2) and the base rail (3) are integrally formed from a metal sheet (28), and each shielding plate (2) is connected to the base rail (3) via a narrow web (4) and is arranged rotated through approximately 90° with respect to the base rail (3).

  • Patent number: 6654223
Abstract: A surge arrester mounting unit is provided for telecommunications and data systems technology. The arrester includes an upper part and lower part made of plastic, and metallic contact elements which are arranged in pairs and which engage, by means of spring arms, in chambers of the upper part in order to made contact with surge arresters. The contact elements have contact blades which project out of the lower part. In order to enable the surge arrester mounting unit also to be used for terminal blocks with high transmission rates, the invention provides for the contact blades (11) for separating contact fingers (directed into the interior of a terminal block) (1)), from insulation piercing contact elements (4) to be made approximately twice as long as the spring arms (19) and to be given more than double the material thickness (d) at the free end by bending over.

  • Patent number: 5641312
Abstract: A terminal block with a plastic housing and insulation displacement contact elements provided therein for incoming and outgoing conductors. In order to simplify the termination of the conductors at the insulation displacement contact elements and to permit a protection of the conductors against surge voltages and surge currents, it is provided that the insulation displacement contact elements are disposed separately from each other in the plastic housing, and that each insulation displacement contact element is provided with a center tapping. The spaced center tappings opposedly disposed in the plastic housing can be connected with each other by different function plugs.

  • Patent number: 5494461
Abstract: A terminal block for high transmission rates in the telecommunication and data technique. The terminal block includes a plastic casing and metal insulation displacement contact elements inserted pair-wise in at least two parallel rows into the casing with connected contact fingers forming spring contacts. The flat insulation displacement contact elements are formed at the narrow side webs including the contact slot therebetween and of the base web. The width of the spring contacts is small.

  • Patent number: 4909759
Abstract: This invention relates to a terminal unit for cable pairs in telecommunication systems, comprising an electrical connector made of two plastic bodies each having a cutting and clamping contact inserted thereinto. The cutting and clamping contacts extend into clamping slots of the connector for cable pairs. The connectors are affixed to a mounting frame for receiving said electrical connectors. The plastic bodies forming the contact housings are advantageously identical and preferably each receives a pair of cutting and clamping contacts. Each connector housing body is provided on its base face opposed to the clamping slots with latching elements for joining together two said plastic bodies to form a casing the casing is provided on two opposed outer faces with latching structures, by means of which the two said plastic bodies are releasably latchable in an aperture of a mounting frame to permit both said plastic bodies to protrude on either side from said mounting frame.

  • Patent number: 4889405
Abstract: Optical wave guides are interconnected with the use of two interfitting shell parts which when fitted together form a continuous tubular channel for receiving the wave guides between there. For this purpose a carrier shell part is provided with a continuous longitudinal groove of a size to accommodate a cover shell part and each part has a longitudinally extending receiving channel portion of complementary form which fit together and form a continuous receiving channel for the optical wave guides which are to be interconnected. After the wave guides are placed end to end in the longitudinally extending wave guide receiving channels defined in the carrier shell, a cover shell is engaged over the carrier shell in a manner which positions it complementary optical wave guide channel with the wave guide channel defined on the carrier shell portion. Wave guide channels are advantageously made with curved up portions at respective ends of the interfitting carrier shell and cover shell.
