  • Patent number: 11479951
Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a device and method for atmospheric water harvesting operative in an alternating sequence of an absorption phase and a desorption phase. The device comprises an air permeable adsorbent substrate being subject to an atmospheric airflow during the absorption phase and being subject to a circulated airflow during the desorption phase. The device further comprises a liquid heated heat radiation element embedded in the adsorbent substrate and a heated liquid heating media being circulated in the heat radiation element during the desorption phase. The device may further comprise air shutters, where the direction of the atmospheric airflow being substantially transversal to the direction of the circulated airflow. The air shutters are capable of blocking an entrance and an exit of the atmospheric airflow during the desorption phase.

  • Patent number: 11445715
Abstract: A trap for catching living insects, specifically fruit flies, is provided having a catch container, a base, and a funnel-shaped insert. The funnel shaped insert has a funnel wall, a plurality of slits in the funnel wall, and a funnel exit opening. The insects to be caught are able to slip through the funnel exit opening, but not through the slits. Furthermore, the trap includes an attractant container in the catch container and/or in the base having a liquid attractant and a wick. The insects are attracted by the scent of the liquid attractant evaporating from the attractant container and fly or crawl through the funnel exit opening into the catch container, where they become trapped. The user can then carry the trap outside, remove the funnel-shaped insert, and release the captured insects alive outside. In this way, the insects can be kept out of human living and working spaces without killing the insects.

  • Publication number: 20200276644
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing open-pore molded metal bodies which have a modified surface. The surface of an open-pore molded metal body said molded body being used as a semi-finished product, is coated with particles of a chemical compound of a metal on particles of the metal which can be reduced or thermally or chemically decomposed in a thermal treatment. After the coating process, at least one thermal treatment is carried out, in which the produced metal particles are connected to the surface of the semi-finished product and/or adjacent produced particles via sintered necks or sintered bridges such that the specific surface area of the obtained open-pore molded body is increased to at least 30 m2/l and/or at least by a factor of 5 in comparison to the starting material of the uncoated metal semi-finished product.
