  • Patent number: 4281531
Abstract: A blind riveter has a T-shaped housing whose one T-arm forms a working tip provided with a reciprocal internal chuck, whose other arm is formed as a hollow compartment, and whose central T-leg incorporates a pneumatic cylinder. The cylinder can displace the chuck to pull the mandrel of a blind rivet, thereby pulling the rivet back against the tip to upset the rivet. A passage extends from the chuck back into the compartment. The cover of the compartment is formed with a jet pump that is powered off the pneumatic supply that operates the riveter and serves to suck a mandrel pulled from a rivet back from the chuck into the compartment.

  • Patent number: 4140000
Abstract: A tool for setting internally threaded blind-rivet nuts comprises a pliers-type structure having a fixed arm having at one end thereof a hammerhead housing formed with a bore in which a pulling piece is linearly guided. A mandrel having an external threaded part for screwing into a blind-rivet nut removably clamped in this pulling member and can be dislodged by forcing it through the pulling member and out of the end remote from the end of the head at which the blind-rivet nut is to be set. The housing is formed with a stop screw which can be indexed in place to limit the displacement of a movable arm on the housing which arm is connected with the pulling member and establishes the stroke thereof.

  • Patent number: 4005598
Abstract: A blind riveter has a housing with a tubular body and a nosepiece containing a rivet-mandrel-gripping chuck extending transverse to this body. The body is provided with three in-line tubes constituting a liner separated by two partitions so as to form three compartments each provided with a respective longitudinally reciprocal piston. A stem interconnects the three pistons and is provided at the forward end with an end piece engaging a roller on the long arm of a bell-crank lever pivoted on the housing and having a short arm pivoted on a puller body carrying the rivet-gripping chuck.
