  • Patent number: 8395809
Abstract: A device for positioning a measuring head above a print substrate includes a display device and a motor-driven positioning device for the measuring head. The motor-driven positioning device for the measuring head is controllable by a computer connected to the display device. Measurement locations are selectable on the display device and the measuring head is positioned by the positioning device depending on the selected measurement locations.

  • Patent number: 8289575
Abstract: A method for controlling color in printing technology machines, includes measuring color measured values without/with a UV filter and converting them with a computer to color measured values measured with/without a UV filter. The color measured values measured without/with a UV filter are recorded by a color measurement instrument on a substrate. The spectral remission values of the substrate measured with and without a UV filter are supplied to the computer and the computer converts color measured values measured without/with a UV filter to color measured values measured with/without a UV filter taking into account these supplied spectral remission values of the substrate, and uses them to control the color in the printing technology machine. A printing technology machine having a computer for carrying out the method, is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8120000
Abstract: A measuring apparatus for scanning moving, preferably sheet-like, printing materials in a printing material-processing machine, such as a press for processing sheet material. The apparatus has a measuring device which can be moved, at least in the transport direction of the printing materials. The measuring apparatus is set up in such a way that, during a measuring operation, the measuring device is moved over the moving printing material in the transport direction of the printing material with a differential speed relative to the transport speed of the printing material.

  • Patent number: 8047089
Abstract: A device for the optical measurement of a printed sheet includes a measurement table with a displaceable measurement head. The measurement head is cleaned in a fully automatic or at least semi-automatic manner through the use of a cleaning device of the measurement table. A method for operating the device is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20110220027
Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-nozzle, tubular plasma deposition burner (1) for producing preforms as semi-finished products for optical fibers, wherein a media stream containing glass starting material and a carrier gas is fed to the burner (1), means for feeding at least one dopant using at least one precursor gas and a substantially perpendicular orientation of the burner gas longitudinal axis relative to the center axis of the substrate (4). According to the invention, a first partial stream of a first gas or gas mixture, in particular a precursor gas, is fed to the plasma and to the substrate (4) by way of at least one nozzle running in the burner longitudinal axis and a second partial stream of the first gas or of another gas or gas mixture, in particular a precursor gas, is fed to the plasma and the substrate by way of another nozzle (5); said gases or gas mixtures are fed in such a way that said partial streams combine in the vicinity of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7884926
Abstract: An apparatus performs colorimetric measurements of printing materials. The apparatus for the colorimetric measurement of printing materials has two measuring devices operating with different resolutions for registering the surface of the printing material. The two measuring devices permit faster registration of color measured values on a printing material and thus accelerates the measuring operations.

  • Patent number: 7551317
Abstract: A method and a measuring device are proposed for controlling the color application of a printing press (10) using at least one ink-feeding device (20) on the basis of spectral reflectance values of printed surface elements (24) on a print substrate (22), which are distinguished in that measured spectral reflectance values are converted into corrected spectral reflectance values. The method and/or the measuring device can be advantageously used in a printing system having a printing press (10), to implement a control on the basis of polarized spectral reflectance values, in particular for a detector (28) which measures unpolarized spectral reflectance values.
