  • Patent number: 4813225
Abstract: The chain for pressing a plurality of annular segments against a pipeline includes a plurality of links which are interconnected by pivot pins. At least some of the pivot pins are provided with eccentrics which are disposed within the inner links so that upon turning of a pivot pin using a suitable tool, the tension on the chain can be adjusted. Nuts are rigidly secured at the ends of the pivot pins carrying the eccentrics to facilitate turning of these pivot pins.

  • Patent number: 4687052
Abstract: The heat exchanger is constructed with an expansion zone between the two groups of support plates for the helical tubes. In addition, the upper group of support plates is connected at the upper ends to a cross. A lower group of support plates is connected to a lower part of a displacement member which slides in an upper part of the displacement member. Links are also provided to secure the lower support plates to the bottom of the pressure vessel. The inlet and outlet connections for the secondary medium are provided at opposite ends of the coiled tubes.

  • Patent number: 4644975
Abstract: The device for obviating or making difficult the rupturing of a pipeline having a risk zone includes, in one embodiment, a plurality of tension bars which bridge the risk zone and tensioning bands which extend peripherally about the tension bars to press the bars against the pipeline at the respective ends.In other embodiments, tension pins are disposed at the ends in arcuate segments which circumferentially surround the pipeline on opposite sides of a rupture zone while tensioning bands in the form of chains surround the arcuate segments in order to press the segments against the pipeline.

  • Patent number: 4199853
Abstract: A C-shaped open base element of sheet metal is used to form a protective sleeve about a pipe mounted in a mounting. The element is bent about the pipe and welded together to form the sleeve. Wedges are used to secure the formed sleeve to the pipe. Shoulders are provided on the sleeve to stiffen the sleeve in the unbent regions and to prevent axial displacement of the sleeve in the mounting.
