  • Publication number: 20110040239
Abstract: An apparatus for the production of ionized oxygen and ozone from pure oxygen. An adjustable high voltage power supply is connected to an ozone generator having at least one ozone generator therein. The HV power supply has a relatively low voltage setting for producing negative ionized oxygen and a relatively high voltage setting for producing ozone. A negative ionizer may be included to increase the concentration of negative ionized oxygen. Outputted gasses are directed to a hermetically sealed envelope positioned around and in spaced relation from the surface of a patient's injury. If the wound is infected, ozone is selectively used to treat the infection for a first predetermined period of time sufficient to neutralize the infection. After the wound is treated with ozone, negative ionized oxygen is selectively used to treat the wound for a second predetermined period of time sufficient to enhance the healing of the wound.

  • Patent number: 5547375
Abstract: A suction device with a suction hose and suction cannula for dental treatment units for the sucking off of the spray mist during dental treatment processes in which the suction hose is placed on or in a flexible tube, which is movable in three-dimensional manner, so that the suction hose can be brought into the treatment position and can be positioned there without any need for a dental nurse.

  • Patent number: 4111714
Abstract: To recover amino acids from raw sugar juice, as obtained in beet extraction, the juice is treated with acid or with lime to coagulate impurities which are separated off. The juice may be treated before or after coagulation with a pectin-cleaving enzyme. The juice so pretreated can be directly passed through a strong cation exchanger and a weak anion exchanger whereby the amino acids are adsorbed. Switchover to a new cation exchanger is initiated when betaine flows out the column. Elution is effected, preferably with an ammonium compound, and eluate is collected, preferably each fraction being enriched in a different amino acid. The sugar juice may be concentrated and crystallized in known manner and is of comparatively high purity.

  • Patent number: 3969538
Abstract: A process for separating enzymes from an aqueous solution in which they are mixed with smaller organic molecules, comprising passing the solution through an ion exchange resin, eluting the resin with water, and separating an enzyme-rich fraction before the appearance of a fraction of the eluate containing the smaller organic molecules. The solution and resin are preferably adjusted to that pH from 3 to 9 which is optimum for the catalytic action of the enzyme so the enzyme-rich fraction can thereafter directly be used for biocatalysis. The process can be used to separate lactose from milk, to separate hydrolases from the product obtained by treatment of polysaccharides, invertases from the product obtained by treatment of low saccharides, as well as of hydrolases and invertases jointly from the product obtained by treatment of polysaccharides.
